I first saw this movie in NYC in 1956. It blew me away. And it still does. Houston's film of Melville's masterpiece hasn't yet been bested on screen or TV.

Meanwhile, for you Yankees of all colors and persuasions out there, novel and movie are touchstones of our American identity.

This was inspired by Mocha Dick and another whale, the other whale was never caught but it wasnt white, it also sunk a whaling ship in the late 1800's.

Mocha Dick in the other hand was just big and white, never attacked ships, many whales tried but failed to catch it until the early 1800's it was caught.

I thought it was them. I just want to say I had to read Moby Dick and it sucked...but your video is great. I like that you used the 1956 movie with Gregory Peck. You did a great job with putting the music and click of the video together. i will check our other videos to.
