Oh, my first time round on this level I triggered the mortar search light at the opening with the Scout and Shock Trooper with Welkin and then backed off again. The next turn the mortar fire took them both out :)

what is your scout level when you did this mission?

i think it's level 11 because he was able to fire grenades out of his rifle and you can only do that when you're scouts are elite (level 11)
