  • 'We don't want to make our girlfriends upset, right'?

    Oops, too late.

  • god forbid one of those bands snaps while the disks are spinning XD

  • We're not gonna get some noise comparisons, are we? :P

  • Nice table buddy!

  • My thoughts were already to sell my 1 TB HDD and move to something else but this video helped me a lot already do not hear that discomfort noise ... THX a lot bro !

  • funny thing is we have the same MOBO lol

  • This video is too long. You could explain it in like 30 seconds. Or at least cut out the bits where you're spending ages tying the knots. :)

  • I would recommend screwing a wire from each of the HDDs to the case. When an HDD is attached the normal way using screws, it is grounded. However with just the elastic strings it is not. It’s not a bad idea to keep it grounded as a precaution.

  • Although it has been done back in 2002 (

But found this first, and it works like a charm.. :-)

  • i've done it. it reduced noise a bit. still got a noise. dont know if it is the cpu fan

  • @Blackhoundrise its noise caused by hard disk vibration not hdd itself. so read carefully some hdds are just noisy, you can reduce it using 'hdd quiet'

  • @zander1989 . thx.

i just checked my speedfan. my HD temp jumped to 41 c. before it was just 36c. maybe because i raised heating in the room.. what can i do?

  • @Blackhoundrise The thing is you that your HDDs have no contact with the case, so there is no thermal conductivity :)

  • I tried this out and it really works. I used thick rubber bands because I had a load of them spare but it works perfectly either way.

Only thing that I can think might be a problem for anyone is the way the holes on your case are drilled for mounting. My main PC had no troubles with this, I mounted 3 drives with this method. My home server has a funky fitting for drives but with a bit of extra thought, managed to do it with that case too. Brilliant job!

  • yo! does this really work? i'm gonna try it man. i will report back on my progress. gonna subscribe

  • Another great way to stop case vibration (usually hard drive oscillations), is to find any kind of ceramic tile lying around and break it. Put a modest sized piece under your desktop case where the rubber feet are located so that the feet are now on top of the ceramic fragment.

This worked for me when everything else just failed. Ceramic seems to have excellent vibration absorption.

Hard drive oscillation has been a nightmare for me - finally got my case as quiet as it should be.

  • Or you could just get a job and buy some real stuff for your computer ;)

  • @pzychozYT uhm i thought the vid was pretty good if you just want to use some shit at home for it

  • @sk8erfreak9242 well yea... if you dont got a job ;D

  • i used your method :D and also tied another elastic cord from front to back to the side ones so the hdd cant move back or forward :D Safe & Quiet* xD

  • I should have thought of this. Now I can remove the useless 3.5 inch drive cradle and fit a longer graphics card.

  • I installed a second HDD the other day and it's alternately quite and humming every second, as if it's oscillating. Do you think your tip will help? Or is it the bearings in the device, and it's warning me it's going to shake itself apart?

The noise hums through the whole house, so I've taken it out for now.

  • The second multi-hum coming from the hdd when I inserted the chassis, I tried this method, the sound was cut. Excellent idea, thanks for sharing.

  • This is an excellent tip, I tried it just and the noise is completely gone.

    Thanks loads!

  • I tryed it and it works great! the only noise from my PC is now the fans :D

  • what's the music?

  • güzelmiş thx ama ses db testi yapmadın nerden bilecez paşam ama denemeye değer don lastiği

  • great video! i may try this very soon or create a other noiseless system. the only problem with this setup is you can't carry your PC without dropping all your HDD.. you should add other band or some thing on the front and back of all your HDD.. =)

  • Incredibly simple and incredibly useful! I'm gonna try it, I have problems with space in my PC, so this is the perfect solution. Thanks a lot dude!

  • useful :) meybe i try that to.. my harddrive is behaving strange, when i move my pc noice stops, lol....

  • great idea broth!!!! nice video!!! i like it

  • now, how do you build a space rocket to get to the moon? :))) you can find almost any solution to any problem on youtube!!! good vid!

  • this is idea is just genius as simple :D

  • Antec spent alot of money on the same principle, thanks dude I'll sure test this. My pc does vibrate alot not sure if the fans or the hard drive are making my pc shake

  • What is this song ?

  • Good video, I'm going to try this.

Btw good music. :D I think older music is the best.

This makes me want to put some brown flares on and get jiggy. hahaha

  • terrible music!

  • TYTY!!! It works....this has been an issue 4 me for ova 4 months and was so annoyed

  • Looks nice, though you probably have to be careful with moving your PC after you've done this.

But a nice and cheap solution if you have problems with HD noises :D

  • Teşekkürler

  • one tip - you should remove the music. only use sounds and voice.

  • @windson7 lol man I like music, actually I farted a lot while making this video :) are you sure you still want to hear?

  • @beltatex yeah

  • @beltatex yes

  • @beltatex fuck this shit ..

  • @beltatex sure, it would be more fun XD

  • nice ;)
