Thors are slow, better at attacking massize units, buildings, and packs of air units like mutalisks. But they just rip right through them. As for roaches, all you need is some good micro skills and prevent massing. I mean, if you allow your opponent to macro thors, then you obviously cant be that great.

It all depends. It's like siege tanks. They're useless if you're only using one in your army. If you spam them, then they can become a waste of resource and still die easily. It all depends.

Meant 600 as gas is more valuable than minerals (concidering you can only have 6 workers mining gas per compared to 24 mining minerals + one gas collected=4 gas. 1 mineral collected=5 minerals. @Healingproof I know. I agree with you and that's what i'm trying to say. But when i actually tried, my lings were easily overrun. Stats are stats. But sometimes weird things happen. I had about 50 lings and he had 5 thors and i didn't even kill 1 thor. Plus, it only did about 70 damage to the thor. I just couldn't understand why. They had one armor and one attack upgrade. I had 1 attack upgrade and 2 armor upgrades. Do you know why this is?

@ericnrivers 5 thors costs more than 50 lings :P 1thor=20 lings in resources. And your armor upgrades litterally does nothing as thor is massive. Armor upgrades only does stuffs to lower tier units. For example; Your lings does like ~5 damage or what? So with 1 armor on thor, that reduces your damage by 20%. With 1 armor on you, that reduces thors damage from 66 to 64, which doesnt change the fact that thors one shot your lings.

You can test it out on your own, the only way the Thors will have a better chance of survival, is if they actually were backed up against a wall. You can't compensate resources for power, considering 2 pairs of lings can take down a siege tank in siege mode, and clearly the siege tank costs more in BOTH MINERALS AND GAS.

@Traumatas Marines are awesome... They deal insane damage when left unchecked, and they are the cheapest (and easiest to get) anti air in the game. However, they can easily get shutdown mid-game by a number of things: any decent ground army with Siege Tank Support, any decent army with Colossi support, Psi Storm, Banelings, Roaches, Hydralisks, Infestors, and Speedlings (if there aren't like a ridiculous amoung of Marines). I guess Ultralisks too... But that apparently wrecks any ground army...

@SKTroop979 Half the Zerg I play don't do this (Silver league, so not too surprising), but all you really need to do to stop Zealot rushes is lay down a Spine Crawler or two and get Roaches up. People probably QQ'd that Zerg couldn't rush as well as in SC1 cuz of Zealots getting out soon, like 5 seconds really makes a difference LOL. I do kind of agree on Void Rays, but if you get them quick enough they get torn up into shreds.
