  • Check out the old gospel tune O Happy Day, it's clear He's So Fine was a rewrite of it. George pointed that out in his plagiarism case but the court didn't accept it. They were wrong though, He's So Fine was changed around a little more than My Sweet Lord was but it's still the same song. Did the "writers" of He's So Fine send royalties to the writers of O Happy Day? That's rhetorical of course, because the song is public domain, but then My Sweet Lord and He's So Fine should be PD also.

  • He probably decided to record this while he was fingering little boys' buttholes. Creepy old bastard.

  • @skapunkteddybear Those allegations against Johnathon King were made a whopping 20 to 30 years after they happened when he was quite young himself in the 1970s and early 1980s. He never denied that they happened but stated that the young men he had sex with fully consented. He did not have sex with boys but with young men!

  • @ParagramTree Thankyou so much for that, it changes entirely how I feel about what I'd heard (the 'dirty old man' allegations. Poor guy, and sooo talented. Hope he's doing well : >

  • It was a case of "subconscious" plagiarism and not outright plagiarism.George wrote plenty of great songs before AND after "My Sweet Lord" and it has been beaten to death. LET IT BE.

  • @queenrosered ha h ha! Oh Yes?Mr. Harrison paid $10 millions to R. Mack, and case closed.

  • I know this is a cover. Why didnt he change it to she's so fine? Its coincidential that he's singing about boys since he has molested a few.

  • oh and at 2:44 should he expect a phone call from Jerry Butler's lawyers?

  • Doesn't really prove anything, a competent musician/songwriter could make Enter Sandman sound like "I'm a Little Teapot"

  • same tune.

  • Interesting how a chord progression can be "stolen."

The whole argument and lawsuit over George "stealing" from the Chiffons is completely invalid. The song in this video is pretty much a mashup of the two songs. They're different. Whoops, they both have the minor 1 to major 4 chord change at the beginning, and the background vocals are the corresponding notes.

SPOILER ALERT: They're different songs. One is a beautiful and melodic chorus to God, and the other is about a guy being simply fine.

  • @robosteven cause its not just the chord progression.

  • @philnoll Right, it's also the melody.

I don't know. I feel like they are two completely different songs. Musically, they are practically the same song. Emotionally, they are completely different. I don't really think that it's something to cause a lawsuit over.

I think it's disappointing that making music has become just about making money. That's really what it all comes down to.

  • @robosteven Yes I agree. The performer is doing something completely different, which makes it a new song, especially with that catchy little guitar lick. But oh well, what's done is done.

  • dAMN YOU GEORGE, RIP OFF FOR SURE. aND HE PAYS $10 MILLIONS DOLLARS FOR THIIS MISTAKE.

  • THE CRAZY JOHNATHAN KING WAS RIGHT. GEORGE RIP OFF THE CHIFFONS SONG (HE'S SO FINE).

  • wow, if anyone's interested, I think 'vilepervertamusical' is actually jonathon king. Have a look at his videos on his channel if you want a shock.

  • Filho da Puta!

  • I love George Harrison but consciously or unconsciously he lifted "he's so fine" clean.

  • No; I recorded it originally long before Wild World and it was played in the court case, causing George to lose. He refused to speak to me from then on. I did a similar trick on Wild World to illustrate the similarity between it and It's A Sin by The Pet Shop Boys. The release as the B side of Wild World was the second release.

  • Hehe.. this is a great way to show that Georgie "borrowed" cough cough, the music from He's So Fine. In fact, George once said he never heard "He's So Fine" before, HOWEVER, in the very early days of the Beatles - before they made it big, they used to perform He's So Fine! George was not above lying. Even nice guys lie.

  • @jdohe

February 1963 the "Please Please Me" reached number one on the UK singles charts. "He's So Fine" by The Chiffons topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the spring of 1963.

The Beatles had already made it by the time "He's so fine" came out. They never played it in there early days because it didn't exist.

I guess you are not above lying.

  • This song's the only good thing to come out of that silly lawsuit.
