I think you are being very harsh. Virgin Blue is a great airline and right up there with Qantas. From the looks of things you were flying on an e-jet which don't have the premium economy or soon to be business class or the in flight entertainment. I have flown on them many times and have had very little problems just the odd 10-20 minute delay and one time when they could not connect the jet-way to the plane but that was late night and Melbourne Airport's fault.
@satojinnthehero I'll admit, i'd rather fly QANTAS but, i'd be putting my money on Virgin Blue to survive the next twenty years with Qantas'financial woes.
@satojinnthehero Totally agree, they should have 777-300ERs to fill the spot for the ageing 747 fleet and waited for the 747-8i instead of those big white elephant A380s which they only bought because Airbus sold them for half price because no one wanted them, and they should have 777-200s instead of A330-300, much longer range but, the 787s will replace the A330s on the international and high density domestic market and then they will be retiring the good old 767-300.
