Wow...nice insight. I was stunned by this scene. You did feel her feelings of intimacy and, to an extent, admiration shatter for the Driver in this scene. The expression on her face conveyed so much about how her hopes for their romance was immediately destroyed. I didn't even think about the scorpion symbolism in this scene...that's awesome that you connected that.

Totally amazing and mezmorizing film. Definately this directors most commercial film but there is still that mystical/artistic feel in every scene. My second favorite Winding Refn movie is Valhalla Rising. It also has that "detached from the real world" feel. I love the way the light changes when he kisses her. Almost like they have gone to another place on. I wont spoil what happens but notice they never say a word to each other. Its on their faces up until that elevator door closes on them.
