And you're right - LotR RotK isn't worth 11 Oscars but it was good to see a fantasy film - a very good one IMHO - clear up for once.

I'm not totally above looking at beautiful people like Liv Tyler either, but looks aside she's really good as Arwen anyway, with great vocal skills in her acting and singing parts. Well... yes. Lots of good films are grossly overrated because I think US audiences aren't used to seeing them to be honest. Example - I hate to tell people but Inception... is just an action movie. It's thrilling and *quite* smart but the level of discussion devoted to the permutations of what is and isn't a dream is absurd - it doesn't matter. And you're right - LotR RotK isn't worth 11 Oscars but it was good to see a fantasy film - a very good one IMHO - clear up for once.

I'm with you on actors being cast to trap screaming fangirls/fanboys into subpar movies. But with LotR, I say that whole cast are fantastic regardless of why the fangirls are there. I'm not totally above looking at beautiful people like Liv Tyler either, but looks aside she's really good as Arwen anyway, with great vocal skills in her acting and singing parts. As for Twilight, well yes it's awful but my, ahem, assessment of the problem is way too long for this comments section.
