@OregonBackpacker Of course not, if you look at the webbing on the back of the sheath, it says "SpecOps" which is a tactical brand. That is why it is not the original sheath.

why the rugged effect on the blade ?

because the coating is rugged.

i meant : isn't that bad for cuting some materials? doesn't the blade looses some cuting abillity by gaining friction ? is the coating for stealth, rust-free, or just for style ?

nope. This knife cuts like crazy:) The coating is to protect the D2 steel from rusting.

personally i don't like shiny blades ... too muck atention drawn ...

Its rugged because it increases the life of the coating with usage considerably (look for swaprat knifes or busse knifes and you will see the explaination). The bumps in the coating will wear down with usage until the coating will be uniform, it will not decrease the performance of the blade.

i prefer 1095 on rat 7, but D2 is also acceptable :P. awesome knife, probably one of the best knives considering value/price. it wont let u down
