I usually save the trial software exe files on my usb so I can install them when ever I want. Deepfreeze doesnt allow the time stamp in the program to save permanently onto the hardrive allowing you to re-install the software when ever youd like. only downfall to have a trial version of deepfreeze is that every month you will have to reformat your computer to re-install deepfreeze and set up an new account everytime. if you cant afford the expensive soft this will pretty much help with that

if anyone wants anymore infor on this program let me know. it doesnt prevent an intrusion or stop an hacker from getting in but it doesnt allow any damage done to be saved and permanent on the system, upon reboot the system is swiped clean like nothing ever happend.such set up your pc the way you like it with all faves and programs, settings and lock down the pc. upon every reboot it will look the same as it did when you first set it up. this is also good if you use trial software

and the number one tool I use for anti virus protection is DeepFreeze, I am sure all techs have heard of this program, but for norms this program will help you if you have children using your computer all the time. always downloading gunk and messing something up. the program is free to try for a month or you can purchase a full version for a pretty cheap cost. It is compatible with xp,vista and windows 7, just create an account with them, doesnt have to be real info just an ligitimate email.

if you want to install a cd program after applying these settings you will have to go to my computer double on the appropriate drive that the cd is in and find the setup.exe icon. from there you should be able to install like normal

I would choose all drives to be on the safe side click ok and exit the editor, from this point forward any cd or removable disk drive you put in your computer has to be accessed through the My computer window and double clicked on. but hey atleast you wont be getting any viruses that have an autoplay script

and the user will set it for a certain user of your choosing. go to windows components in the adminstrative folder and double click on autoplay policies. double click turn off auotplay and select enable now choose the behavior. you can either choose all drives or just Cd-rom and removable storage drives.

here is also another trick to help keep your computer safe from auto play viruses on cd's and usb's go to run>cmd> type gpedit. This will take you into your goup policies editor. WARNING! do not mess with anything else other than what I will suggest to you unless your IT or have a strong technical background. depending on where you want the setting you can choose the admin folder for the computer itself or for the user, the computer will set the change for all users

if the computer has a Vista OS you can only access this file through the file system unless you know the syntax in cmd. go to windows>system32>drivers>etc>h­osts and choose to open the file in notepad, delete the ip and website and save

this same method can be applied ot block certain sites for parents aswell, just type the same IP address as you see in the Host File press tab and type the website you want to be blocked like porn and such then save the notepad. you can also access this File through your file system it is just faster through CMD

This will bring up a list of blocked websites if any, you will see a paricular IP address next to the addresses, just find the websites you want to access and delete them and save the notepad. you should be able to access these sites if it is not being blocked on the server.

well with most schools they have a blocked list of proxies and websites in the Host File but you can always try this method to see if any of the sites are being blocked on the user end. go to run then type cmd, type ...cd, then ...cd again, cd windows, cd system32, cd drivers, cd etc then notepad hosts.
