I actually don't see the point in adding smaller windows to bathrooms, sims can't actually perv, the sims who use the bathroom dnt care and changing windows completley throws me off. Even wen the bthroom is @ the front of the house I use the same windows. :L

Go to options. Under the graphics tab, check advanced rendering and the pools should look back to normal.

sometimes i build randomly, but if you really want to get fancy. Get some graph paper and draw out the house design. (graph paper because it has grids like all the sims game's have)

Only having limited amount of "lots" to build on isn't a great thing about the sims 3. Many people like building houses then playing sims. For me i would prefere to sit and build a house then play the actually sim family.
