when you reboot and go onto recovery mode, got to blackra1n and hit make it rain, it'll re-jailbreak your ipod/iphone without any data loss

How would you do this on a blackra1n jailbroken ipod? Because as soon as you shut it off, you have to completely reboot with itunes. I have winterboard installed but none of the themes work!!! I'm so depressed...

Secondly - the installer is the Cydia program, go to sections n look for winter/summer board

My problem is that this video didnt show where to install the theam programs in your PC. The zip file are .png files, where do i put them so that the go onto my ipod?

First - the reboot problem, when itunes asks you to reset ur ipod, open Blackrain (the program that cracked your ipod, and hit make it rain, its rreset your ipod, but all your apps n stuff will still be there

when i install winterboard i have to restart my ipod touch which gets it into recovery mode,.. and i have to restore it on itunes which means everything including cydia is gone.

i had same problem but i did all of these and it worked after:

1. leave the "make it rain" thing on (jailbreak)

2. when you first get cydia something pops up and asks what kinda user you are click the 2nd one down (think it's like "hacker" or something like that)

3. when cydia restarts after step 2 and another thing pops up asking for upgrade click "complete upgrade"

i'm not sure if all of these are necessary to getting it but i did all of these and it worked.

@shtpid just leave the blackra1n on and click "make it rain" whenever it crashes while it reboots. It'll save all your data without wiping the whole touch when rebooting

the only reason i dont do it is because we have a friend close to us who works for apple and he would get tickd of if i did tht hacking stuff isnt right

You have to jailbreak it because Apple wants everyone to look exactly the same (which is ironic because their old slogan was "Think Different." :P ), but common sense tells us people like to be different, so in order to do this we have to jailbreak because Apple wont let us. And why would your friend get ticked off? It's your phone/touch, do whatever YOU want to it, don't worry about what your friend thinks.

If he did it to HIS phone while he was working there etc. THEN he would get in trouble, but he's not responsible for what his friends do. I would do it though if I were you, there are so many neat things you can do once you have opened your device up to third party things!

I showed you how to find, download, and install them. Only difference is instead of Installer use Cydia and instead of Summerboard use Winterboard.

That's because installer no longer exists. I assume you got Cydia? Use Cydia and download Winterboard, its better than summerboard, and it works essentially the same way.

yeah you have to jailbreak the ipod first search 2g ipod touch jailbreak (untethered) windows the first video you get in the search is a great guide to jailbreaking your ipod touch/iphone

because summerboard is not and will never be compatible with 1.1.5. So, you have to choices. A: Upgrade to 2.0, which I highly recommend. (You can still jailbreak and customize but you get thousands of professionally made, and many FREE App Store Apps) or B: Download Firmware Change from installer and change the coding of your firmware to be 1.1.4 (This will not actually put you on 1.1.4 it will just fake the code allowing apps to be installed. you will still be on 1.1.5)

Installer and Cydia sources are different. You need to look up sources made for Cydia in order for them to work.

Just hold down the home button and the on/off switch at the same time for about 20 seconds or until the connect to iTunes logo appears. Then connect to iTunes and restore. So ya, thanks to me I fixed your iPhone.

the background's not supposed to change unless the theme says it is. also, go into summerboard and make sure, "theme wallpaper, theme status bar, theme icons, theme dock, and wallpaper" are all switched to on! GOOD LUCK!
