  • hehe..yeah list to my vid with the casio SA-9 at the beginning. It has a lot of the same sounds at least. I mean without the distortion etc which I can get by using a bad cable :-) I start my vid w/ the sound at :50 though.

  • I enjoyed that bend alot! Very good job, and it's a fairly common keyboard here in Canada. Did you design that circuit, or can we find it on the web? I would like to learn from your post, do you have details on the proceedure? I have 2 similar realistics, and one with the sampling. This would be a good starting point, after Speak and spell.. which i have conquored. ;) peace..great vid

  • Thanx for the comment ! to answer your questions: it's my own design but as you may know: Realistic did a lot of "clone keyboards" from Casio, this one is a Casio SA-39 clone and you might find some design on the web searching for Casios as they are quite similar... also when I bent this one : I did not keep my notes and schematics : a big mistake ! so I can't really help you as I no longer have this keyboard.Go on, create your own : you'll see that this kboard has a lot of mods, good luck ! ;)

  • omg i used to have that exact same keyboard and had it since i was 4 to the age of 16 when it dies a natural death

  • i have the exact same electronic keyboard, and im playing it right now. lol

  • very cool! i am working on one of these right now. i found a really cool glitch that just makes it produce random beats and sounds, but i was wondering if i could take a peek inside yours so i can make some improvements? thanks!

  • thanx for the comment !

I removed the left speaker to have enough room to connect the switch + pots on the left. During my search, I also solder the ON/OFF button to avoid using it every 5 sec, indeed this machine crashes VERY OFTEN during the bending process !... so it gets quickly boring if you don't solder a "reset" switch on the batteries.

  • Surprisingly, the hardest task was the "ON LED", I had to test voltage everywhere on the pannel and it was hard to find a point where the LED was really "ON" and bright, and not blinking or dim...

Anyway, the best way to find the disto, body contact and volume pots is > humidify your finger and test (touch) every corner of the circuit board, you'll be surprised !

  • I had some more mods on this keyboard but I couldn't add them coz there's not enough room in it (and actually the inside of mine is a mess !!)

If you have more questions ; don't hesitate to ask... by the way, as you may have noticed : I'm french, so I wish I was quite clear with my bad english ;o) ...

  • Awesome! Well done!
