  • This is exactly what I need for my Yamaha 25hp 4-stroke.

Apparently adding a factory tilt and trim would not be cost effective ($1200usd).

    Thanks for the video.

  • They are a great unit. You can buy a smaller one for you size outboard. It would be the PT-35 I believe. It would be a few bucks cheaper. I loved this unit.

  • @tallcanadian ah i see, thanks dude

  • It is yes, but it's the same hardened steel as the rest of it and there are 2 machined holes drilled in it.

  • @tallcanadian isnt the adapter plate basically a hunk of metal ? or is there more to it than that?

  • I am glad it helped. That's why I posted this. And it's a great unit. It will tilt 90 degrees up..Too far but it's an option. I did have to change my steering arm though. I had to go with tilt tube steering for the effect of the trim. If you have that now then you are going to be very pleased.

  • Very helpful. I have a '90 40 hp Johnson with a stuck tilt assist cylinder and was told the PT-130 was a viable option in lieu of replacing the cylinder. For just a few dollars more than replacing the cylinder I can get a power tilt! Since my cylinder is stuck in the down position it will work fine with the PT-130. I'm going to place an order...

  • fuckin gay!

  • I like the tilt-trim switch on the motor! How is that working out for you? Any drawbacks?

  • Absolutely no drawbacks. It works perfect. You can buy the switch and the rubber boot that goes over it for less than 10 bucks. It is a on-off-on momentary switch so it doesn't stick on or off by accident. There is no going back and forth to raise the motor. I have no complaints about it at all.

  • Thanks!

  • How'd the boat run with the PT-130?

  • I only gained about 1 or 2 mph but the handling is unbelievable. It planes better and faster. It handles way better. It seems to dig in a lot more. I love it.

  • That's great! How much would you estimate the unit's weight?

  • It weighs about 50 lbs. But because my motor is a clamp on, I had to buy the clamp on adapter with the unit. That weighs another 15 lbs. But I really don't see it in the water. It sits a bit lower but not that much.
