@singyist Its because when the L'Cie comes to a point where they want to give up, the eidolons appear to challenge them. If they beat the eidolons then the L'Cie gets stronger, if the L'Cie loses they die(crystalized or turned into a Cieth), and dont suffer anymore.

Sazh, Vanille, Hope, Lighting, Snow, and MY LOVE FANG.....They all had soo much interpersonal interactions, desires, flaws, dreams, and ambitions with each other, all I can say this is what made me love this game despite it's short ass story and tragic ending (which didn't feel like a FF ending).

@Waffersforever They're the most 2D RPG characters I've seen. If you want emotional attachment you should try Lost Odyssey. The shitty voice acting paired with forced diversity and ridiculously coincidental plot twists left me irritated with the plot. The game was mediocre but the characters were my main gripe.

@LAGGZZZ haste is the first Synergist move Sazh can learn at the start of this chapter so it doesn't require that much grinding for him to learn it: learning how to use Sazh later in the game..now THAT takes some "grinding" for the players themselves LOL

1 start in Symblosis, cast buffs while Vanille heals don't use tide turner

2 change to undermine to start raising the chain gauge, change to war and peace to heal/freeze the chain gauge

3 use duelcasting/slash and burn to raise the chain gauge (don't let it drop back to 100%) and war and peace to heal

4 when the chain gauge in high enough use duelcasting as long as possable before healing

i won doing that with the doom counter at 83

This was the best cutscenes in the game. This is the one they should have made an FMV out of. The battle was easy. Tide turner to get haste. War and peace to establish a chain, dualcasting to sent the gesault gauge sky high. Also having a maxed doctors code on sazh helps allot. potions do double the healing and you don't have to wait on vanille. 49 seconds is my best on this boss.

LoL. This battle is a fooken piece of cake. You dont even need to use any veils/powerups before the battle. I kept loosing and couldnt understand why, then i remembered i had to press square when the boss was in gesault mode, ha no wonder! I just kept fighting and wondering why the thing wouldnt be defeated! Now that i remembered to press square, the batte was over in 2 minutes with 5 stars rating. Its so easy. Just use ravager on both sazh and vanielle and switch to cure when necessary.

This was such an easy Eidolon. Won it in the first try. SYN/MED, then RAV/RAV. Didn't have much doomtime left but the gauge went up like crazy.

@mikeloire04 How would it help me to lie, dude :) even my wife beat Brynhildr at the 2nd try.. seriously, I'll have to try to find the time to record it myself and show it can be done relatively easily. Not sure how far along in the game you are and I won't spoil, but there's a boss called "Barthandalus" later on. I beat that on the 2nd try.

It might help that my guns (for Sazh that is) are upgraded to level 7 by now, I've spent way too many items early on but it may have helped.

I used a Ravager and Ravager paradigm to take him down. I spanned Aero. When HP was low for either Sazh or Vanille, I switched to a Synergist and Medic combo. As Vanille healed, I buffed her until HP was back to a decent amount.

Don't complain about not having haste, the fun about these battles is trial and error, for me at least. I figured out about Brynhildr's weaknesses then just casted bravery to vanille and sazh, then let loose a barrage of magic spells(other than fire), then heal when needed to.
