Having worked with leather, the safety is a great idea; however, I can see it has an already spring effect wanting to lift out. Perhaps like they do with belts, instead of a straight piece of leather try an arching or slight angle so as to rest in position, there it will stay. Also, consider the same application with a ballistic sheath.
The Wasp Knife is not meant for use on people as Robert describes. It is meant as a last resort defense weapon agains sharks and wild animals in the event you were under attack. It was never intended to be used on people for any reason.
