I salute the Dragons player for tackling Castillo. Nobody throws a baseball at a fan and gets away with it. It doesn't matter if he was 'aiming' for the dugout either. Wish I could go to more Dragon's games.
The reason the ejections were overruled is because both teams were going to have to play pitchers in the field. Both minor league coordinators didn't want pitchers playing in the field and risking injury. I was on Peoria's team that year...and both us and Dayton had lots of suspensions to deal with afterwards.
LOL you dont come to Dayton Ohio and start anything without being dealt with. Even if it is just a baseball game. Those fans wanted to .... that dude LOL. :)
That bat boy is a little white boy player who plays for the other team. The black/latino had 6 inches on the white boy who still took the black guy down!
dude the guy who hit the fan is facing felony charges. So they are not above the law. And two, yea the cops would arrest them but they would be release the next day or in a few hours.
UR a fucking idiot...if you or I threw an object at someone on the street and it it hit struck somebody we would be in jail...he won't got to jail, it is worse because he will never hit the show! Fuck his stupidity!
well maybe it wasnt ryne sandberg, but the manager of peoria at the time pushed donnie scott.. but that was just normal baseball arguments.. it was castillo, not the managers, they dont matter in the fight
juan castilla u fucking monkey u should be banned from baseball u fucking animal are you kidding me its a fight u throw a baseball grow a sack that made me real mad watching that
The poor kid over-reacted, he hardly speaks english and worse, he threw his career away with that throw. Chances are he will be sent home with no real future whatsoever.
Two other players have thrown at fans and were not charged with a thing, but this is in the pros. Good thing the Cubs are backing him, and I hope the fan who got hit is ok in the long run...
fuck him he should be in jail and deported. Unless he thinks in his culture it is ok to assault someone like that. But I am sure he can play in the venezuelan league, chavez will welcome him with open arms, he is a hero in venezuela for throwing at the gringo fan, we should not only ban illegal immigrants but also work permits for these uneducated monsters
They should just not have fans come out to their games anymore. If they are going to throw baseballs at fans, they don't deserve to have anyone watching. Let them brawl in front of empty seats.
ill ignore that retard tennispro, i gotta say, that was a real good fight, i dont think that castillo should be charged with assault when everyone else were fighting and they didnt get charged
It doesn't matter who he was throwing the ball at. It would be assault no matter who he hit. A ball thrown in excess of even 70, 80 miles an hour (I really don't know how fast an average minor league pitcher throws) could potentially kill someone or at the very least seriously injure them. It doesn't matter who got hit or who he meant to hit, he recklessly hurled an object knowing that it could fuck somebody up. He deserves to be charged and put in jail. The others do not deserve the same.
@OneLeo381 the thing is that was an attempt to injure someone not just hit them he threw that ball as hard as he could it doesn't matter who he was throwing at
@xXSeanXx32 He's from Dominican Republic. Wouldn't shock me if he was deported, I do know he hasn't played in the U.S. since. Besides, his career record was 5-13 with a 4.79 ERA.
So you think that it is ok to fire a baseball at the opposing team's dugout and drill a fan in the head, knocking then senseless. Oh! Maybe that was you!!
no, i think just the opposite, i think that the baseball players were all being retarded an they all should be charged, but Castillo should get a harder punishment
What Castillo did is not a reflection of the Chiefs. Castillo was immediately demoted to rookie league ball, where Im sure he wont see any playing time before kicked out of the Cubs organization. What happened should not be a reflection of the Peoria Chiefs - I am embarrassed that one player has had to cast a black cloud on my hometown team. And I understand it was that way - its minor league baseball - when this happens, it makes ESPN (as it should) - and it cast a black cloud on the Chiefs
I know that it is a minor detail, but Peoria's manager was not at that game. He (Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg) was in NYC for All Star game festivities. News reports say 15 suspensions and fines were handed down 1 Aug 08.
I was sitting two rows up from the guy that got hit it was pretty scary
