I can understand why a meat free diet can be much healthier however...I find that for people who are so hardcore about saving the world through eating less meat or standing up for animals rights...in all honesty...it's not about the world or animals, it's about saving ourselves. Less meat, less carbon dioxide...production waste, animals to be raised....environment less pollution= we get to live longer.

After seeing the documentary Food Inc, I'm really going to get serious about eating better. I've been skinny all my life and still am but lately I've gained about 12 pounds and I used to be able to just slip on pants sometimes actually buttoned, but now I struggle to put on pants that I could slip on before and they're actually not as comfortable. Like I said I'm not fat but I'm still not comfortable at this weight and if I keep eating this way I will be fat.

It's surprisingly not as bad as you would think. There are SO many alternatives that taste exactly the same as real meat. I thought the same thing before I went vegetarian, but now I couldn't imagine chewing on a dead animal. Eekkk. But anyway, I would highly suggest just trying it out....give a test run at the very least. You will surprise yourself.

I love meat. But I can respect your views, definitely. All I wanna say though, is that you can't force the vegan lifestyle on others. People that tried to force it on me when I was younger are the reason I didn't try it. I do eat healthy foods though, and even though i eat meat, I eat lean meats and salads. It's surprisingly not as bad as you would think. There are SO many alternatives that taste exactly the same as real meat. I thought the same thing before I went vegetarian, but now I couldn't imagine chewing on a dead animal. Eekkk. But anyway, I would highly suggest just trying it out....give a test run at the very least. You will surprise yourself.

@TheDustinBroke Not true- I'm vegan &eat ice-cream all the time :) If you buy it w/coconut milk there's no animal product involved..there's soy icecream, Hemp, the best is by far all the flavors made w/coconut milk because its so much more sweet than soy. I also eat vegan cookies that are MUCH better<3 it depends whats used for sugars etc Just because ppl are vegan doesn't mean we eat treebark hun Veggie cheese is amazing2make grilled cheese w/and I use vegan butter ~unlimited foods love :) xo

I love meat. But I can respect your views, definitely. All I wanna say though, is that you can't force the vegan lifestyle on others. People that tried to force it on me when I was younger are the reason I didn't try it. I do eat healthy foods though, and even though i eat meat, I eat lean meats and salads. I still lose weight and am getting in better shape. I think you can be an omnivore and still be healthy. It's all about moderation Matthew. You have a point, but I think I do as well.

It's possible to live off of a vegan diet, It's all a matter of making complete proteins with legumes, grains, and nuts. Also make sure whenever you're eating something with nonheme iron you take some vitamin C to help digest it.
It's not very hard at all to live vegan.
