@Mumblemumble375 the fail test is they didnt use SSDs which are quicker to load its a new technology a type of hard drive with no moving parts which means it might have been able to register.. and they're going to get cheaper and larger in size.

They're awesome the gadget show didnt even include them so the test was carbon dated tbh.

Your test between cloud computing and normal computing was pointless.

The reason they've not implemented cloud computing is due to the connection speeds!

Within the next 10 years however we should all be using fibre and cloud computing will be more relevant.

I have a 50mb internet connection, searching for a phrase in google docs takes less than a second so that test was laughable to watch.

Searching on googledocs is MUCH faster than searching on your local machine and their search syntax's are much more effective.

The whole challenge where they "Had to find a laptop" was a complete joke aswell! all she had to do was take a photo on say... An iphone. Edit it on an iphone. Upload it on an iphone and then print it off...

She would of won that by a long distance she didnt NEED to use a PC!

I used to work for Virgin Media and we had clients calling up after they advertised their "Find out your real internet speed" show and The Gadget shows site was so swamped it was reporting false speeds it was a total nightmare!

@CJRamze The whole idea was to use computers, and how fast you can transfer, upload and change data using software stored on your comp. vs stored on servers. Not just to do it fast using any means. If it would be possible as you thought. they would be able to use any decent phone (doesn't have to be Iphone you know) even old phones like nokia n80 or any other could do simple tasks like edit and print wirelessly before Iphone was even invented.
