@dcboi95 Dude, bullcrap! Lazenby did a fine job. Sure he didn't have a good comfortable sense when it came to acting quite yet, but he still did a better job that Connery or Moore would have done in OHMSS. Timothy Dalton would have probably ruined it as well if he would have taken the part.
Very different but Terrific film. Lot more darker and physical. You dont see Blofeld fight with bond in the other two films. I reckon they should have had another film with Blofeld in it as the main Villian, he is the best out of all the characters in my opinion of the JB series. George Lazenby should have done DAF.
i may have missed this part but why didn't blofeld recognize Bond at the start, they met face to face in you only live twice...actually come to think of it how did Blofeld get younger and stronger in this one too?
@pjdr It's a bit complicated. I'll try and see if I can remember it exactly. Part of the problem is from the novels. Because in the novels it went Thunderball=>OHMSS=>You Only Live Twice. In this Blofeld goes under cosmetic surgery to change his look, so he's very thin with long silver hair. Hence why Bond isn't so sure it's the same guy.
Whilst you only live twice took pretty huge liberties with the novel, OHMSS stayed very close. Hence why it all goes a bit weird, cause it's all out of place.
That's all true, and thats the real reason for the plot hole however you can always look at it through different eyes. It could be that Blofeld did recognise Bond at their first meeting however at this point in time let Bond do his own thing because he was laying a trap for him. He wanted to see what reinforcements Bond had, what gadgets he had.
best fanmade OHMSS trailer ever, I did enjoy that thanks for uploading :D I like the way you put in the Casino Royale music into it, but it contains a little too much spoilers, but this is awesome, you got talent. 5/5. I wish Lazenby played in more movies, one of the best Bonds in history. Personal favorites: Official Movies: - Connery - Moore - Dalton - Lazenby - Brosnan - Craig Unofficial Movies - Connery - Nelson - Sellers
I have to say that it was an awesome trailer. I liked the music you used and don't mind that you included the ending. This is one of my favorite Bond movies.
I know, haha, I've had a lot of complaints about the ending to it, but mostly I think people who are going to look up this trailer are those who've already seen the films. If enough people ask I may produce a remade version without any spoilers, but I'm more likely to focus on pastures anew. Only ghey thing is that since Youtube have changed their aspect ratios the film is now displayed as 2:31:1 in a 16:9 window with a LOT of black borders. :/ It kinda sticks out.
I cannot comprehend why George Lazenby was slagged by critics for his performance, I say this movie was pretty damn good, and is one of the best much less!
yeah i got to admit this was one of the best bond movies i ever seen, sure he was no connery, but his performance and take on the character was a obvious inspiration for roger moore ,who echoed lazenby's charisma ,had lazenby done more movies i think more people would of liked him a bit more.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service wasn't the best Bond movie I've seen but George Lazenby looked good as Agent 007. Diana Rigg did a great job too. She was the 1st Bond's big love
I'm thinking about maybe doing something other than bond next time. I'm currently entertaining the idea of using Captain Scarlet footage to produce a trailer for if it were made into a motion picture :)
Captain Scarlet ROCKS, Been enjoying it for 41-years. Got the DVD box-set. Do shte SCARLET trailer, as if it was a motion picture, lik THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO (1966), or THUNDERBIRD 6 (1968), both of which I saw on the gian-screen in the 1960s.
Jeez, the ending of this film always leaves me sad and pissed off. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my wife is chronically ill, and will never fully recover....
I love this film. It's EASILY my favorite Bond movie. And I think Lazenby was just fine in the role; I actually think Connery would have found it difficult to play some of the character beats in this story, because he didn't have the required vulnerability.
ahh the irony , one of the , if not best Bond film with the least popular 007!
Lazenby was very underrated Bond despite his inexperience as an actor. Shame he only did one but then again probably better he is known for this one outing.
Everybody compares Lazenby to Connery.I wish that Mr Lazenby had acted in 3(at least)more Bond 007 movies. Then, and only then,Roger Moore should have taken over as 007.
I just remembered that Bond was (invited?)to board a helicopter, then he did so,and Blofeld tried to kill him,but Bond gained control of the copter, then found Blofeld in a wheelchair.Bond flew over to the crippled & retreating Blofeld, hooked a part of the copter to Blofeld's w-chair,flew around a bit,&pushed Blofeld & his w-chair into a smokestack, saying something like "Keep your hair on"then...the push, and Blofeld Moaned out"Booooond"!What a burn on Blofeld!
LOL! EXACTLY! i just wish it wouldn't have been so comedic. i also wonder whatever happened to spectre after blofeld's death? since they're revamping bond, i think they should bring back blofeld as the head of QUANTUM.
Yes your right! To be honest I thought it was a terrible way of doing it.....Moore was making a joke about killing him.....he killed his wife for god sake!!

Dalton I love, and I reckon could have been an amazing Bond, had the writers written the role a bit well for him - he had no witty comments or charm in the film (something Dalton just oozes in real life) - Take Quantum of Solace compared to Casino Royale - Craig clearly can do witty and charming, but QoS just wasn't written that way.
lol "actually I like all the bonds...except Timothy dalton" that made me chuckle.
what have you got against Timbo anyway. Me I like all the bonds no matter who plays him, okay some more than others but if I'm watching TLD or LTK then Dalton IS Bond, Connery and co dont register in my thoughts.
tell me if he he still sucks ass after seeing his Lark commercial. He looks pretty cool in that
If you like OHMSS then you should watch the James Bond fan film, "The Price of Loyalty". It honors OHMSS. Watch "The Price of Loyalty" and then comment on your favorite parts, especially the parts that honor OHMSS.
Not so. He played the role decently. The movie overall is a Top 5 Bond along with Dr. No, FRWL, Goldfinger & Thunderball. OHMSS's ensemble cast is phenomenal!
Unfortunately Lazenby had some pretty big shoes to fill in...I must admit that this Bond is up there for me also. Connery is awesome but after him it has to be Lazenby Brosnan, Moore, Dalton and then Craig...Craig because of the poor scripting...he is quite a good actor though
A little bit of a nitpick; the line "This never happened to the other fellow" would have been better played at the end, IMO. Great work still! Five stars!
OHMSS was too long and dragged out. But I think George was a better fighter as Bond than Sean Connery or Roger Moore. Much due to the fact that he did his own stunts.
Well they offered Connery a good deal to come back but he was very much finished, and if you watch YOLT you can see his interest in the character fading as his performance is rather phoned in. So they decided on a fresh face that no one had seen before, expecting the character to be the selling point.
Connery apparently didn't like the direction the series was taking - He felt there was too many gadgets, and that there wasn't enough serious drama. Lazenby was offered a 7 film deal - but his agent advised him that Bond was a thing of the 60s, and would die out in the 70s, so he moved onto other projects. Bet he regrets that greatly.
bloody agents...acting ones not secret!! shame george listened to his agents advice but still his first, last and only Bond film will be fondly remembered for all time. its a good thing Eva Green listened to her agent as the girl who would become vesper didnt think she was right to be a bond girl orginally
True. But Connery seemed as if he was tired of the Bond series, as Diamond are Forver proved. If Connery has taken this movie on, he might has given it a half arsed attempt. I love Connery, but Lazenby, despite all his flaws, gave it his all.
Connery's Bond, with his boundless humor and sense of fun and self confidence, would be out of place in this picture. Its hard to believe that Connery's Bond would fall in love and settle down with one woman and give up his free lifestyle. It works with Lazenby's Bond.
Lazenby almost gave it a romantic look at how to get with women, whereas Connery seemed to muscle his way in with charm. It's hard to see Connery after all his adventures settling down with a women and seriously meaning it.
Yeah, have to say that John Barry really outdid himself in this film . I mean, the main title didn't have any words, and it still kicks ass. More so than a lot of the Bond songs :D
Well, since this is a retrospective trailer (made years after the film was made) I figured the only people who would watch it are enthusiasts who had already seen the film (OHMSS being one of the less popular films as well) I did question whether to stick the ending in, but it fitted quite well with the theme and music, so I decided to stick it in anyway.
One of the first films to expose MK Ultra Monarch mind control as well as aristocratic Bloodline geneology. Mass extinction by way of bio-terrorism of the food supply. Ian Fleming was an ex-British agent. George Orwell too. They wrote about their own experiences. Only NOW do we know that stuff is ALL REAL. Interesting.
On OHMSS G.Lazenby indeed brought quite a "human quality or element" to his role, but he had to pay for it - OHMSS has obviously never been accepted by the so called "hard core" Bond fans although there are lots of brilliant sequences, remembering the spectacular snow scenes and the bob run...
Too bad that OHMSS has always been underestimated - not least for starring such great actors like Savalas and Diana Rigg.
i've never liked ohmss personally but the more i watch it the more it grows on me and the more fantastic it seems. thanks for this coz now i want to watch it!
OHMSS is one of the worst films in the james bond-era, I think. The best part, though, is when Bond is chased by Blofeld's men on skiis. That's the best part. I don't think the film has got a good enough script. There are some things which should have been explained better and some things which should have been filmed better. But it is cool to see the skii-chase, that's cool. But that's the only good thing, I think.
I don't think the script and/or plot elements had nothing to do with it. Granted, it could have used some tightening up, but there's no question I'm left wanting answered at the end. No, what did OHMSS in was, as you alluded to, the poorly-directed and filmed action scenes and, more importantly, in my opinion, George Lazenby's performance, which was very stiff and came off as too strained. But the film has a beautiful, bittersweet story that more than makes up for it's faults.
This is a beautifully made Bond film. Lazenby isn't the best actor but he looks great. And Diana Rigg is the best Bond woman. The script is definitely one the best because it follows the book. It makes sense compared to the others.
This is crazy! I personally don't like OHMSS as much as Casino Royale, but the application of the style and technique in CR's trailer to OHMSS is absolutely brilliant and top-notch. It's just marvelous!
Regarding the ending, yes, I did realise that its a huge plot spoiler (which has no place in any trailer) but the reason because OHMSS tends to be a very fan centred film, it's well liked within fan circles but outside has next to little support. For that reason It occurred to me that people who were going to watch this video had already seen the film anyway.

This trailer is a wonderful blend of classic bond with modern music. Well done.

Excellent! Five stars. I must say however, it would suck to see this trailer in a theater having not seen the film before. We find out the ending!

For me it's the best by a couple orders of magnitude.
Lazenby, for a novice actor, was superb. I swear, you can actually SEE his heart breaking when he says, "... we have all the time in the world."

For me still one of the best Bond films!

Great trailer.
Where'd you get the music you used? (and is it the same piece as used in Casino Royale promos?)

This is crazy! I personally don't like OHMSS as much as Casino Royale, but the application of the style and technique in CR's trailer to OHMSS is absolutely brilliant and top-notch. It's just marvelous!

i don't know how to feel about the ending, but the rest is indeed nice. i mean, it make me wanted to see it again... and again...
