I have watched 10 episodes. There have been many threats, many fights and even shooting but no one has been killed so far. It is very different from a lot of modern programs, and shows that we need not see a lot of people being killed to be entertained.
@asmodeus585 Most of California has two seasons: dry and wet. These episodes are filmed during the dry season: all the grass is yellow and the creeks are dry. During the wet season the grass is green and the creeks start to run. It also depends a lot on the snow melt from the winter snows in the mountains. During El Nino years there can be severe flooding, especially along and near the coast. By the way, there is a real tar pit (La Brea) in downtown LA. Lots of ancient bones found in it.
@asmodeus585 No need to apologize. I certainly don't know all the weather patterns of the world, either. When I visited England I was amazed that moss grew all around the trees, not just north side. Before I lived in CA (spent first 29 yrs of life in US northeast) I had no clue about its weather either. Watching these episodes makes me nostalgic for the California countryside. So much of what you see in these episodes is probably under housing developments (estates to you) and shopping malls.
Thank you, my grandfather is Nick Moro "Pepe" (The tall mexican who is jailed with his vaudeville partner Frank Yacanelli). I had never seen this episode until today! This made my day!
@StimuLAZ and then you went to ep 11 and said; 'oh, never mind' =)

I think I like Diego's tar prank over the flag prank at the beginning.

Could anyone explain me what's the point of building a small wooden bridge like the one we can see at 4:15?

I suppose in black and white it would have been harder to tell that was a pool of water.

Nice move with the carrige. It's not easy to get a team to turn so sharp so smoothly.

I like the old days with monastario. These story's are much better than the ones in monterey or the eagle.

I'm pretty sure that pitch is ALOT thicker then THAT
JDBW 2 years ago
Well, the pitch is probably under the water itself, as often happens in the natural tar/pitch pits.
