Google looking into image mapping? :) Thats awesome. Thing is people will have to learn to make the images small in size. This might make the web even faster. (force people to make proper images)

Very good indeed...there was another interesting video that I happened to see sometime back, which talks about a new self learning algorithm that is a concept for advance machine learning. The algorithm is called Latent Metonymical Analysis and Indexing - LMai (just type in LMai in youtube). It was interesting to watch this video as it briefly explains some important concepts of AI and search, which google is trying hard.

The Africa example doesn't not make much of a sense. Google is a business. It won't make money from most places in Africa. Google can give all the talks but it probably won't work for free.

BTW, imagine if your phone knows who you are and what control Google and those who can gain control over Google has over you.

We 've got to watch carefully about the context to avoid the misunderstanding.-101 means the college lecture for freshman,not age,but class.i think he try to make the young,probably,students relax,by telling some joke or humor.We all know that humor can cause a good effect for easing stress.This is KINDNESS,not rudeness.You can check another him in another-context on another Video like "inovation at google"

I am not saying that his jokes are not to ease his students....sometimes....but when he says things like (13 minutes 16 seconds) "come on guys I know you're out there I hear ya breathing! Come on!" - That's just rude. I will say it again though. The man is VERY smart. In books. But people skills could use a boost of kindness. Thanks for posting though "MasamuneJJ". Very benefit-of-the-doubt of you. Always nice to see the other side of the coin.

I agree with both you and MasamuneJJ. Merrill IS very smart, he's trying to be humorous and his attempt backfires; thus, he appears arrogant, boorish, and flippant. This is what happens when an older lecturer (usually professors, and he said he's a former academic) tries to be a peer to a young audience. He presents as a kinder person in other videos when he's not trying so hard to be 'with-it.' Better still, check out his blog, "Other Side of Sunset" to get a fuller picture of him.

this guys talks to people like they are stupid. It must be so he can make himself feel good. He thinks that he is so funny. After deciding that I don't like him I stopped watching at 17 minutes. I will give him this...he is very smart. But people skills, and not talking to people like they are idiots is a better quality in life to have.
