This is great. This is really, really great. I so appreciate the fact that you approached it as you would any other monologue---so many of the Shakespearean pieces on YouTube are performed in these faux-British accents that add nothing to the piece, and it really detracts from the performance because people seem to think that sounding "Shakespearean" is all it takes to do a Shakespeare monologue. Props to you for a humorous, enjoyable, and exaggerated-yet-believable interpretation!
This was interesting. I too have studied at top academies, including intensives at RADA. But that is neither here nor there-I dont like to brag. Or tell people they make me want to cry. That is mean. The breath is correct at the end of every line, so I dont think the piece has been butchered. Phebe is supposed to be overdramatic.
I thought your interpretation was different and funny. Maybe a little too much yelling, but you still brought across your and her point of view. Kudos

horrific, too painful for words, total disregard for the iambic pentameter and your face makes me want to cry, by the way i'm coming towards the end of one of the most prestigious acting trainings in the world, I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT
In Shakespeare's time they didn't talk like the British do now. There was a study done and they found some people that lived in the mountains that talked like people from Shakespeare time. The British accent has change allot and so it wouldn't be right for a American to speak in a British accent when preforming Shakespeare
thank you for your great monologue (: now i have something for my audition for midsummer night's dream (: i'm an exchange student from austria, and I live in Virginia for one year..
So it's difficult for me to understand and speak everything - mainly in old english!
but i have worked on the words in the monologue and now - finally - i think i understand the sense of it! (hopefully :D )
Hello! I'm from Austria and I'm currently searching for the perfect monolouge for my qualifying examination at a drama school. I surfed through youtube and finally found YOU. You and your wonderful monolouge. So I searched for phebe's part in german and I found an translation. Well, I found my first monolouge which I'm going to work out!! I have to prepare 2 monolouges, the socond will be the dying scene of Emilia Galotti - know her? You're just wonderful...are you an actress?
Apparently 9 people are close friends with Silvius... (the character her character is yelling at)

This was different, but i think you need to let this piece flow more. It would be nice if you didn't exadurate on words quite to much.

@clarkefreddie Pretentious is an overused word, usually by little boys who can't do what the pretentious people do or know what they know.
