Actually, I love the TomTom GPS devices. I've owned 2 other brands and I've found theirs to be easy to use.

no matter how many years i have been driven, but i have to confess "i suck at directions .. so suck that you couldn't believe it .. hihi"

i couldn't tell "N,S,E,W" .. all i could tell is to "turn R, turn L" ... lol

i have been thinking about getting one of these GPS's .. but there are so many of them .. that makes me reluctant .. now my daughters are driving, for safety, i have to get one .. and bingo, this one sounds so convincing .. i don't need to hate myself for being lost .. any more

I think the devices are exactly the same. However the TM model includes lifetime map updates.

@maycolBlueMagic 540TM has lifetime traffic and map updates, note lifetime means lifetime of the unit NOT the owner. newegg.com & amazon.com currently (9/27/10) have it on sale.
