I just realized just how much straw you have laying around... I am assuming it is to keep moisure in the soil.. I am also in a very hot and dry soil area.. I'd love to know more about your application of the straw. it doesn't seem like you have grass growing... is it all heavily hay mulched?

rmmm maybe i'll plant grapes at the base of my trees.. though.... how would I do that and be successful at it?

@Necrowitch make a massive mound and plant the grape on top...that way they wont compete as much. It will give the grapes a good head start. Let me know how it goes!
