Todd Robbins is an excellent showman, but there are a few problems with this trick as displayed here. Notably, the construction site lantern. We are to assume it is legit, but two seconds worth of thought makes one wonder why Todd Robbins owns one. Why is it used in the one moment of the trick to garner authenticity. Why is it quickly discardeed.It couldn't be because the shielding on the back is also a good place to put a lighting source that appears to make the faux lightbulb illuminate...

@czerro I'm a magician and last week, saw Todd do this. He doesn't switch anything. I was VERY close by and the bulb is legit. He's not the first I've heard of to do this but as he says, don't try it.

@czerro I think you're reading a little too far in to it. Glass eating is a classic sideshow trick, that type of light is just really convenient for displaying the bulb, and getting it out again. As a performer he probably uses that same light on stage all the time.

It is not, I repeat, It is NOT sugar glass. Anyone can go to the store, buy a light bulb, chew it up, and swallow it. All you have to do is chew the glass up fine like sand and then you can wash it down with water. It's definitely not good for your body so I don't recommend it, but these sideshow acts do stunts, not magic tricks.

It is very real. It's a classic sideshow stunt, one i've done many times. Notice I said stunt and not trick. You don't need a banana or anything like that. Just, as mentioned before, you have to chew the bulb up very finely. Of course it's dangerous, and of course it's bad for but it won't kill you unless you make a horrible mistake.

eating glass is safe to do, ONLY if you chuwe it up it a fine powder frist. It feels like sand in your mouth. The only problem with it is that it decsroy your emamel on your teeth, and can give you gum dieas.

Hello, Mcaleck, I am afraid that is simply not true. I was there, I shot this video, and I can tell you that the light bulb was a 100% real GE bulb. He did not have any spare bulbs in the house, he had to take it from a working lamp. Then he again plugged it into a shop lamp for the camera. And I promise at no time is the bulb switched EVER.
