One of the best drum solo's on this drum feature song that i've ever heard. Some new ideas displayed like hitting the sticks against each other on the drum heads. Really great playing.
@2LOUD2LOUD, I do not get inspired by York at all. The same playing since decades, same equipment since decades. You should watch Charly Antolini with the RIAS big band at sing, sing, sing, for example, there you can learn what a drum solo, pressure and virtuosity is. :) York plays entertaining but not brilliant at all.
I'm no drummer, so I can't speak technically, but I think there's nothing wrong with using the same equipment "for decades" - why go for musical adventures when the thing you do works great on very various acts you play with?
@whity72 Well Whitey You are entitiled to your opinion Antolini has his following, But Pete York is one of the most sensitive versatile players out there. From Helga Schneider to Spencer Davis to Jon Lord to The Gene Krupa Story. Its the kind of career one dreams of.. I wont bash or compare Pete to Charly, but if you ever have the pleasure to meet Pete a better gentleman youd never find!!
Pete, just an OUTSTANDING effort. Beautiful man, you got me excited. I've always been a fan of your playing. Keep hittin in good health............

Is this the same Pete York that played with the Spencer Davis Group in the '60's?
