  • Thank you for your comment! I am glad to hear that you were at least to make your engine start. These old engines did not have pressurized fuel tanks or mufflers. The engine will run on an external fuel tank without the aide of a pressure tap as long as the elevation of the tank is centered about the level of the engine's needle valve. Good luck! David

  • we bought a dead man's house , and i found one ok cubs engines. it has the fuel thank at the end of the engine. I tried it today , and i couldnt run it without pumping fuel to the tank all the time. And it seems that you dont have any kind of pressure on your fuel tank ? At least my brothers 4-stroke kyosho's fuel tank is pressured by the air from the muffler. I would be happy to get a respond to my comment , and sorry for my english , im a finn and only 16 years old.

  • @vipervenomply The engine with the longer shaft housing is the most common by far. I could not see your video because I don't have the link so I could not confirm which engine you have. Sorry that the system flagged your comment as spam. David

  • can i put a cox starter spring on my ok cub .049a ?

  • The front Intake on the Cub, may interfere with the end of the spring that wraps around the cylinder but I am not sure because I have never tried.

  • why are you using a 9x8 prop. do these produce more power?

  • I was trying to demonstrate how the engine would react to a pusher propeller and that was the only one that I had at hand at the time. normally I would use that propeller with a 40 size engine.

  • Oh I see. Yea I use that size prop on my Fox 40 lol That 049 seemed to push that prop pretty good:^)

  • I bought an ok cub .049b off ebay and ran it about an hour ago, its the smoothest running .049 I have. Nice and loud too!

  • Yes! They are smooth running, very light and powerful but, without mufflers they are noisy, as you say. I guess that's what killed them in the end..
