Can't you just melt it in a pot on the stove (assuming the gelatin is in a metal container? Or alternatively, could you have just put the container into a pan with water in it and put that on the stove or is slow melting essential to the process?

why not just pour your geliton into your mold instead of pouring it into a contaer then melting it again to pour it into your mold.

saves a few hours

how to make this for 1 cup of water you need 1 onz of geliten but you use cold water not hot and stir then set then melt then set again for 12 till 24 hours and thats it ???

Is it necessary to melt the gel down, and chill it again; does it make it stronger? Because, if not, you should just mix the gel-mix up, then pour it into your molding container that has been sprayed then chill it for 36 hours. I'm in the process of melting down the gel down, I just wonder if this step is necessary for strength.

fred i got a heads up from someone to check this video out and do one of my tests w/ the gel. but looks like too much work for me. how long will that mold stay in its finished form.. and im not sure why you refrigerated it than re melted it, than refrigerated it again. im sure its just a step in the process but im an idiot

Thanks for filming the process. I didn't know that the blooming stage was a critical step. Let's say you skipped the blooming and just left it in the fridge for 36 hours after removing the suds--you'd have a regular block of spongy jello, wouldn't you?
