  • Milton Cross (1897-1975) was the legendary announcer for Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts from 1931 to 1974. This recording was originally released as Victor 26399 in 1939 and reissued many times. It even reached the Top 10 up on Billboard magazine's children's record charts in 1948, 1949 and 1950.
