  • I understand his reasoning for redoing Keasbey Nights with Streetlight, but i still prefer Catch's versions of the songs. With Tom singing them of course.

  • The streetlight version sounds better

  • @Leojk87 It's a different type of ska, but check out Fixed Idea from Chuco Town, where a lot of the whole zoot suit riots and stuff started. ;-p

  • So much better than the Streetlight version!

  • 3:02 DHOUW DHOUW WHUU.

  • ahh me encanta su Reggae-Ska-rock que hacen :)

  • This is seriously one of the greatest CDs ever created.

I can listen to every song on the entire cd and be perfectly happy.

  • @AndyMH182 Yeah i love this record too! Do you know other ska punk records-bands that are awesome as well?

  • @Leojk87 Can't say that I do. I'm not big into music or anything other than what my friends listen to. Back in the day, there was a Real Big Fish cd that I couldn't get enough of either. It had like 23 songs on it that I literally listened to for months straight. Can't remember the CD, but it was made prior to 2003 I believe.

  • @AndyMH182 Thanks dude im trying to find great ska-punk bands...so far i got less than jake, theyre really good their album "Losing Streak is amazing...

  • @Leojk87 five iron frenzy, the furios, catch, mad caddies......old old no doubt was ska, nothing new tho

  • @AndyMH182 Most likely Everything Sucks or Why Do They Rock So Hard

  • @AndyMH182 *reel big fish.

  • catch need Tomas back. SUX FOR THEM

  • wanna know a 3 letter word that causes babies?! SKA.

  • None of catch 22 or streetlights songs get old...its crazy. I remember listening to Keasby Nights (catch 22) when I got pulled over and got my dui. I prefer Catch 22's version better....it seems to be more upbeat or something. Idk

  • i love you ska :)

  • Seriously guys. Can't we just say that any band with Tomas Kalnoky in it kicks ass and leave it at that?

  • I hate how the people argue Catch 22 vs Streetlight Arguing on youtube is like the special Olympics-you can win but either way you're still retarded. Both version kick some major ass!

  • @KaptainKwasnik Funniest, though insulting comment I've read in some time.

  • I have to say that I like the tempo of this version, also just that there are 3 horns here. I love the old school ska feel. I do think that the streetlight version was too fast for even Toh Kay to sing properly.

  • play faster!!!

  • @CarmelLax15 Dude. They made this song. They played it at this tempo. Tom got kicked out, and remade it with Streetlight and they sped it up.

I much prefer the Streetlight version, but this has a nice old-skool ska feel.

  • @MarchingTheBeat even though they sped it up, the length of the song is still the same...

  • @MarchingTheBeat They didn't kick Tomas out, he left to go to college.

  • Catch 22 is 10000000000000x better than streetlight.

  • @XxsamoilarxX fuk u, thats bullshit.

  • @XxsamoilarxX I'd have to disagree, but that's just my opinion.

  • Happy birthday Tomas Kalnoky

  • streetlight's is faster, which makes a little more hardcore. catch 22's is slower and allows for better enjoyment of the little musical things put in there

  • I like Catch 22's Keasbey Nights better, it's more raw.

    Sounds more fun to me.

  • @PandaaaaBearr I'd have to agree with you.

  • i love the chorus

  • They are two different sounding bands. Catch 22 is more raw, old school ska that leans more toward the punk side. Streetlight is higher budget with ( I think ) more well written lyrics and better harmony, it focuses higher on reggae. In a matter of opinion Streetlight Manifesto is the better band.

  • I love all the songs tom did while in catch 22, they sound better.

  • I like how the vocals are a bit cleaner on this one. I still love both versions.

  • I like Streetlight Manifesto's version better, just because the vocals.

  • @TacoMaster3211 They're the same person though.. Just sayin'.

  • I don't like how they treated Tommy boy, so I disliked it.

  • This version is better as well as some others than SLM but I like some of the SLM versions better. They are both great bands and they can't make a bad song.

  • great song the streetlight version is better though

  • love this song, kinda like the streetlight manifesto version a little better though

  • this is epic

  • Tom redid Keasbey to spite Catch 22 for kicking him out I think.

  • this song is pretty sick but im not in the mood for ska

  • catchy!

  • my opinion. no one can touch streetlight at this point, way to tight. slm's rerecording is just much cleaner

  • @prazzi how you record a song isnt what makes you a better band, how you play it live does. imo streetlight's version is better, but not because the studio version sounds better

  • Streetlight > Catch

  • starting at 2:25

  • I had this song in my head for years and forgot the name

    THANK GOD FOR GOOGLE.

    *circle pit*

  • yeah i heard catch 22 did the original or somethin... im glad Streetlight exists

  • @orcassio15 Tomas Kalnoky and half of the original Streetlight lineup were in Catch 22 at this point. Tomas wrote and sang on the entirety of the Keasbey Nights album. Streetlight's version is NOT a cover, just a remake since Kalnoky wrote the song in the first place! The way I see it, the new Catch 22 lineup is covering the song when they perform it!

  • the entire album of Keasbey Nights was originally done by Catch 22 and redone by Streetlight because the leadsinger of Streetlight (who is the same as Catch 22) realized that the original was awful and wanted to make it better

  • SM version is much better imo

  • not much of a difference tomas wrote both and sung both after he left catch22 he rerecorded the keasby nights album becuase he wrote it

  • catch 22 wrote Keasbey in 98'. they kicked out tom komalky cause he wanted to go to uni. they kept playing his songs, so later on when he formed streetlight he redid keasby. it was like his way of taking back his own songs. in "A moment of silence" by streetlight he sings "If you hate me so much then singing my songs!" both bands were awesome though

  • its "if you hate me so much then STOP singing my songs"

  • @InTheFlame1 a moment of silence <3

  • tom wrote keasby thats why copyrights did not stop him from rerecording. And he left to go back to school he did not get "kicked out"

  • @mario12345619 And it's Tom Kalnoky. ._.

  • Comment removed

  • @mario12345619 I thought Tom left, I didn't know he got kicked out

  • @mario12345619 im almost positive he left and didnt get kicked out..i could be wrong ,but i heard he left to go to college..i believe his last show ever was at the stone poney in asbury

  • @mario12345619 im pretty sure he left, he didnt get kicked out...

  • Kalnoky left Catch to further his education sometime after Keasbey Nights and he later made Streetlight Manifesto. He rerecorded the album because he wasnt satisfied with the Catch 22 rendition.

  • For any and all who are confused Catch 22 record Keasbey Nights shortly afterward Tomas Kalnoky left the band. Tomas wrote all the songs for Keasbey Nights. Then in 2006 Catch 22 was going to rerelase keasbey but tomas steped in and offered to rerecord the album. And thus is why there is two verson of Keasbey Nights

  • ok who is streelight keep covering catch 22 or other way around or do they switch songs?

  • I'm not sure, but I think that Catch 22 came first, but then the lead singer left and created Streetlight Manifesto, and redid all the Catch 22 songs

  • i think they did a tribute cd .

  • As far as I know, both bands have a common member (Tom Kalnoky) and he left catch 22 for Streetlight, and decided to re record all the songs from a certain album so now there are two versions of every song on the album, which i'm pretty sure is called Keasbey Nights

  • The guy who writes all the songs for Streetlight is the same guy who wrote all the songs for Catch 22 before he left, so he decided to re-record Keasby Nights because he wasn't satisfied with the original recordings.

  • whoa whoa whoa man i ain't here to cause no trouble yo.

there were no hints OR clues in there!

I try and i try and i try and i try every day, but i'll never be anything at all...

tell me what that's from. It's a test. With clues

  • Really? Goldfinger...they were a mega established ska band before these guys were even born.

  • there's a lot of ska

  • Yes there is...I don't see your point...

  • I'm saying you don't listen to one song by another ska artist and say that one other ska band is better. It's so random and unnecessary. Goldfinger's good but Catch 22 is good too.

  • Psst, me and Zach, the owner of this channel are friends irl and we argue about this all the time. Take a bloody hint.

  • GoldFinder's better :O
