thanks bernie for the class envy. sounds like the bitter man down the street who failed in life. Who wants to call me and bitch about life for an hour? I want to listen to your problems
Instead of complaining about the income tax rates of the wealthy, why not REDUCE the income tax of the middle class down to 5%? That should be a bill we can pass w/o much debate. Anyone who's not rich can have a 5% income tax. And if you do something smart, like bring all the troops home & end multi-billion dollar war contracts, we can save a lot of money and do something meaningful: like fix the potholes in our highways.
What Congress should do is: ADMIT THEY HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM. Then ask the American people for help. They should promise, w/a written law, that they will spend less money in exchange for a temporary increase in income taxes. I'm tired of people saying that the rich make too much money. So what. That's why America was created: so we can make as much money as we want. I'm just as jealous of rich people as anyone else, but I don't feel the need to raid their bank accounts. I'd rather ignore them.
@MishuTaste Ignore them? We've BEEN ignoring them for decades as they've been plundering the country blind! Yes, Congress has a spending problem - they spend OUR tax dollars on corporations and Wall Street while leaving taxpayers to vend for themselves. The rich should pay their fair share!
@seriela I don't understand why a 35% income tax rate isn't enough to satisfy Congress. To me, the issue isn't that the rich aren't contributing enough to the tax base, the issue is: Congress borrows & spends too much money. And there's too many members of Congress bragging to their constituents about the things they "give" them. Those that invest in U.S. Treasury Bonds are providing the money for the wars & welfare. Personally, I want Congress to stop "rescuing" me. It costs too much.
@MishuTaste People tend to forget that one of the primary sources of income for the wealthy is investments in particular assets like hedge funds, bonds, equities etc. The issue is that, long term capital gains are not treated as ordinary income so it's taxed at a lower 15%.
I don't understand why 35% of a rich man's income isn't enough for federal government activities. Does anyone think to ask: does the federal government waste money?
@MishuTaste The wealthy accumulate their wealth on the backs of the US government and American taxpayers--water, sewer systems, streets, highways, technology, internet, on and on and on...a progressive tax system is simply fairness, paying your dues to accumulate wealth in our society. The richest country in the world should not have the highest number of children living in poverty or the highest number of children without health insurance...
@uhale All that infrastructure can be paid for w/ a sales tax. Nobody ever asks why Congress needs to spend trillions of dollars. Personally, if we ended all military activities in Iraq & Afghanistan, we could afford a huge tax cut for everyone: rich, middle-class, and poor. And if two people are living in poverty and decide to have a baby, why doesn't one parent take on a second job to pay for health care? Why does a rich person have to be the 3rd parent? Or how about this:
@MishuTaste Work your way up into a higher income bracket and THEN have a baby. There's no rule that one has to have a baby right away. I think having children should be a planned event instead of something that spontaneously occurs.
@METALMAN4Wii How can that be? The highest tax bracket is about 35% now. The overall point I'm trying to make is: If you raise taxes on the rich, is that going to solve the SPENDING problem? Congress loves to spend money & they don't care where it comes from or how much debt accumulates---just as long as they can spend money & brag to their constituents about what they did for them. I see a problem with that.
@MishuTaste Well im with you on the spending I personally think a congress person shouldn't be paid over 100k a year. I figure if 45k is good for our police officers it's good for them as well. but still you can stick your fingers in your ears all you want and make the LA LA LA sound. but the truth is the Richest 2% only pays 15% in taxes and that hurts our national debt even more.....!
@MishuTaste Because of the Iraq War and everything that follows it like Wire Taping us and TSA. btw when Clinton left office we had a "Trillion Dollar Surplus". because The Rich paid there fair share and we weren't at war with a country for there Oil. because Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 it was ether Saudi Arabia or an inside job......?
You can't speak german or french or swedish or polish? Those languages are way more fammilar to me so we could have a way easier discussion for me. :x
I said derivates from the hypothecary-credits wich were given. Yes we'all know that Greenspans policy was as smart as a bin. But people bought such credites all over the world espacially in the US. For such a decision you need the capital to buy 'em. This capital isn't in the hands of a employless guy it's in the hand of mr. eastcoast with the billions. And your industry was crying for cheap money, such industry is controlled by the rich. They were lurking for actual rate of return.
I'm not american, i'm german. And there isn't any standart american or human at all in my opinion. Let's stop this idological battle and stay to a fair and free exchange of ideas and thoughts please. Thats what linclon ecetera wanted 'eh?
The derivate's wich just let your financial system implode. On estates (meh my english isn't good enouth).
You can manipulate your behavior and thus you can manipulate the behaviour of your direct contacts - well obama sux true. Ron Paul would be my choice if I were american even if I got a lot of differences with him especially in the economic sphere.
Are you saying real-estate as an asset? If so realize that China owned 20% of the real-estate in freddiemac & fannymay. The reason for implosion was the governments carelessness in lending $ to the banks who loaned it to the people. If we had less government control, all the loans would have had to be from the rich. It would have been good because all the money from the rich would be out in the market increasing economy. They would have been more careful with money. Instead we have inflation.
"people/businesses are paying more money to the insurance/tax and have less money to hire."
People with a huuuuge amount of money aren't investing it in new employees but in assests wich just create a virtual growth. Thought i made my point in that place. =S
There might be some people who don't want to work. Well let'em they'll spend their unemployment pay and thus they'll create demand - for your products or attandance?
The state isn't a corp. The state is a democrazy (it should be one ..) in wich you got the right to manipulate its policy. Also it invests in infrastructure wich are avaible for everyone - creating the fundament for innovation, growth, jobs well .. wealth.
Walmart creates just an infrastructure for its very own profit but not for the citizen wich are employed by it. Tax increase is needed to increase this infrastructure.
But we're mixin' topics, we discuessed Mr. Waltons tax cut - not walmarts;)
The state isn't a corp. it's a democracy (it should be..). You as its citizen got the right to manipulate the behaviour of its policy. The infrastructure it creates is the base for any corp to create jobs, profit, groth well wealth. To strengthen the infrastructure (creating a regenerative energysystem and gettin' rid of the oil dependence f.E.) helps the country as a whole.
And you're mixing topics. We discussed the tax cut for Mr. Walton, not for Walmart ;).
Re-read your sources. What Bernie is talking about isnt a tax cut. It's actually a plan not to increase taxes. Bernie is also mixing what the family makes and the company. If you believe what he said than you're a sheep.
Think about it. the to 5% of the richest people in the country are already taxes at close to 92 %. Will the remaining 8% equal his 20 something billion $? The answer is no.
If you believe 99% of people would rather work than get unemployment, you have never been outside.
Most people (99%?) want to work. Want to participate in the society. In america its work or die isn't it? There's a weak social system compared with germany for exampel. Those who are unemployed are not willingly unemployed. They are victim of a strucutreproblem wich occures by overaccumulation. Eliminate that and capitalism CAN work, socially balanced, helpful to those who work harder than others ecetera pp.
He will not employ them. The corporate he's running is employing them. The corp doesn't need MR. Walton the company needs a working manegment and not a degenerated east coast "my dad got teh money so i got the master" prick. Equal chances for everyone will help white-trash people to improve the growth as a whole. Use the friggin ressources you have man!
BTW: in my opinion the absolute worst thing the government has done lately is increase this unemployment pay. people/businesses are paying more money to the insurance/tax and have less money to hire.
I run a small business that has seen first hand what giving free money to people does. I've done 19 interviews this year. Two of which openly admitted that they were unemployment and didnt plan on getting off and did not actually want the job. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME
It's not giving goverment more money, it's giving people more money to spend. The 'goverment' is just a vehicle to do that. Law ftw. Also a positive effect would be that the influence on govermental decisions by rich families would be weakened. Another question is how to organise corporations in such a system. Hmm well stocks maybe im not completly sure about that. If we hypotheticly use my thesis of a 100% inherance tax capitalism and think it further there would be the possability to impruve
The government is a vehicle to spend money, but it's essentially a corporation itself; making it the biggest corporation in the country. It buys service, product and uses them on infestructure and plans. So does Walmart. However walmart has more employees per dollar than the government. It pays the market rate in any current market condition. Does that say that Walmart is a better employer? Businesses need more reasons to hire, not more tax that increase business costs and decrease employment.
WOW What a load of B.S. Bernie should be required to take Economics 101 and Ethics before making an abusive speech like this. How Un-American, corrupt and un-true. Read the facts of the bill! Bernie twists words like a marrygoround. This isnt a tax-cut. Obama voted not to have another tax hike.
Get the facts and dont be members of the socialist sheep heard. In hard times like our depression; taxes should be cut in all markets to increase cash flows.
@oregonyetiman I agree with your strategy to improve the amout of cashflows but your strategy is simply wrong my dear. The crisis has shown to us that most of the investions made are just thrown into speculation at wall street, london ecetera.
You have to strenthen the demand. Give money to the poor people and they will spend it. Thus they'll create demand IN america AT your place.
Mr. Walton would by a new empty hotel in hamburg and hope that the ground prices rise (for exampel ..). ForTehLuLz!
Than explain to me how giving the government more money will increase what poor people get? Unemployment for 3 years?? $250 per retired vet?
When Mr. Walton (who died like 10 years ago btw) buys that hotel, he will employ many people from the inspectors, realtors, contractors, movers, staff, etc to prepare it and run it or whatever they do. It creates ecomony for those willing to work.
Bernie Sanders is the best vote I've ever cast in my life, plain and simple. I listened to about 5 hours of his speech, and every point he made was dead right and on point. It takes an independent to point out how corrupt our two-party system has become. Bernie is one of the "good few" congressmen who is not the financial puppet of any corporation. He won't win any contests for being charming, but the man is intelligent and upright, and willing to fight for us. What more could one ask?
Don't be a sheep. Learn about the topics before listening to politicians. Anyone can sound good when you're uninformed. Don't even pretend you've researched these what he's talking about.
How anti-american this is. Isn't the US supposed to be one nation for the self-center greedy corporate bitches under god and screw the rest? There's a difference between the american dream and the american reality. Most seem to be lost in the dream which is the only way one can believe it these daze. repugs dug the hole and drove us to the edge watch the US vote them in for a helping push. US politics sucks oh but don't fix it you've got the greatest system in the world, right?
I wonder how long it is going to take before these parties that are used to power to realize that they must carry the consequences(consequences of reactions, that come from cutting things from majority to pay the debt), also.
I´ve read during past week, that bankowners get now up to 40 % of wins compared to couple of percents only a little while ago. I wonder how it must feel amongst bank employees. Skin of their back hurting because of the whip? Pure greed is running free.
The recession was caused by too much government control! We need less government and more freedom. That's the only thing that will releive this economy. Bernie is a bad thing for Americans.
Although I don’t care for Obama, it’s not right that socialists will through him under the bridge. Obama is practically a Socialist, but the party knows he’s not going to be re-elected and they’re scared. Bernie is a coward and a bad person for his actions here.
Keith Olbermann showed his displeasure with Onetermer’s compromise on the Bush Tax Cuts by comparing it to Nazi appeasement. Overbite also compared Bush to a Nazi and Hitler and Odumbass though he was going to get a freepass, ha! I believe they loved the comparison. They probably sent out the talking points to Overbite in the first place.
@CommonSenseJoe That might perhaps work if we were not in a crisis situation. The problem with Capitalism is that it has allowed not only for us to be free, but to be freely greedy, and so the people that have 2% of the collective wealth in this country actually ARE HARMING the lower 98%. Rational solutions cannot be applied to irrational problems, ie. problems caused by irrationale. The system, and the people negatively effected by it, need to be taken care of first.
@venuecam No, Bernie was not referring to the Walmart Corporation. He was referring to the family that OWNS WALMART. The ones that are PERSONALLY MADE RICH.
@borjon23 the biggest corporate shill is obama. i totally agree about the one party system, but i thought at least feingold would help out, given that he does have a heart still compared to the other fakes. the wealthy get their way regardless of who's in power.
Yeah, Feingold was a good senator. He's the exception to the rule in the party, though. I would actually like to see Sanders re-establish the Socialist Party of America, even if he was its only candidate.
Both parties try to appease the people like a mother spoils her child. Too much control. Children need to learn on their own. We need less government control instead of Bernies idea of paying for more.
The problem is that we are arguing about an insane system that should be completely abolished. Bernie and Keith fail to realize IT IS NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S MONEY. This whole notion that because someone has more than me, I am entitled to some of it is WRONG. Why is it right for the government get a second bit of my money when I leave to my children? Whether it is a million or a $100,000, it is MY MONEY. I say tax everyone the same with NO exemptions for anything and stop spending.
there was a virtual media blackout on this speech because corporate america does not want americans to hear this. they own the media and they're going to take away the internet too if we don't boot them the fuck out
@oregonyetiman The taxes on inheritance must be increased to 100%. Money has to be paied equal to all the young people. Doing that they would get the same chances to participate in a capitalistic system. If you do it on another way there is a exponential high accumulation of capital - creating monopolys.
Forget taxes. If you earned the money it is YOUR money- not the gubmint's. The idiots in the gubmint need to stop spending and get out of all the wars we are in.
@alphabeets The ONLY reason I did not give you a thumbs-down is that I agree with (only) your last sentence, although I suspect by "stop spending" you mean "let the infrastructure rot some more, and stop supporting the disabled, including veterans, and don't even think about giving poor people anything, because it's their fault they're poor." In fact, most rich people (Bill Gates and Dubya come to mind) got rich by stealing from the poor. Then blaming them for their poverty. Boo, Hiss!
Great so my wife is gonna take home less money now because she makes less thatn 20K per year? How is that right? She pays more in taxes because she makes less money? Thanks America! wanna kick my cats while your here?
Benjamin Franklin was asked, "Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”
“A Republic, if you can keep it.”
Ben Franklin, Thos Jefferson, John Adams, Thos Paine & other founders expressed their beliefs that we not become like other countries where much of the wealth was concentrated in the hands of a few
And they opposed the transfer of great wealth from one generation to the next & thought that could destroy the country
Idiots trying to defend walmart? Did you not see the cut in estate tax would save the walmart family 37 BILLION dollars? Another thing there political guru, Inflation is not higher prices at the shelf, thats called gouging!!! Inflation is the continued introduction of money into our economy with nothing to back it. This drives the value of the dollar down therefore costing you more to buy your shit at walmart. Our dollar has devalued 95% since 1913. Thanks to IBS and the banking cartel.
@FloppyFormatFrenzy If he ran, I would vote for Bernie over Obama. I fully respect our president but Sanders speaks louder and a bit more clear. Very honest too don't you think?
@FloppyFormatFrenzy If he ran, I would vote for Bernie over Obama. I fully respect our president but Sanders speaks louder and a bit more clear. Very honest too don't you think?
Hey Bernie, corporations don't pay tax. The 8% they do pay is made back by increasing their profit margins. By increasing the corporate tax rate all you do is back inflation. I know, it sounds backward but Bernie should know this. So why is he trying to educate us the opposite??
WTF is a "test vote"?! What, is it like a test screening in Hollywood where the audience tells the studio what they want to see to make it better for them??
Create a bill and either vote for it or against it as long as it abides by the Constitution then move on to something else.
I mostly agree, but.. Do we need generation after generation of auto workers on the same assembly line when the cars they make don't sell? That's not progress.
Ironic how a socialist is more patriotic and more fiscally responsible than 99% of the GOP and 75% of the Democrat party, who are truly nothing more than whores to rich lobby groups.
We need a law to end all lobbying. Our elected representatives and their staff are more than capable of informing themselves on the issues. We don't need this system where abusive lobby groups are the ones that run the show instead of we the people.
People earning $250K per year are not billionaires and not millionaires. They pay 35% of their top earnings already, social security and medicaid taxes. How much of your fellow citizens' money do you believe you are entitled to spend?
By what "right" does the government confiscate personal property, on which a person has already paid taxes, simply because he dies... and then DARE to say it "cannot afford" to steal less of the person's money? The government does not own our wealth. We do. It is not the government's to give back or to "afford." The concept is obscene.
@SteveCoxsey The govrnment does not own our money or us. we owe the government for making our functioning way of life possible, that is why we pay taxes, and that is why there is an estate tax. The money that keeps our infrastructure running is what allows someone to amass an Estate in the first place.
@USBibble We pay taxes to support the government, yes, but that's not why there is an estate tax. There is an estate tax because redistributionists don't believe a person who builds a business and pays taxes all along the way can pass it on to his/her heirs. They outrageously tax inheritance, forcing families to sell a business or close it to pay the taxes. Systematic destruction of small business. Evil and un-American.
@SteveCoxsey Hey Steve: I served 21 years in the United States Army defending our nation so that cocksuckers like you can have freedom to bitch. Now you have the gall to say it's YOUR wealth? What did YOU do to earn it? What did you do to protect our nation? Nothing? I didn't think so. Get you fucking hands off my military retirement funds. You owe me.
@av8tor17b Weird perspective there. You served in the military so YOU own the wealth people created? What, is this Rome? or Russia? If you wanted military service to give you the power to steal people's money you should have lived in a freedom-despising, corrupt country. You obviously didn't serve because no US military person believes that outrageous crap you're spewing about military service giving you the right to take other people's wealth.
@SteveCoxsey I DID serve, Mr. Coxsey, unlike you. I am a disabled veteran now. YOUR repukican party is the one who wants the rich to get more and more wealth, while preventing a simple $250 check for disabled veterans, like me, to help pay for my care. YOU Sir are disgusting.
YOUR wealth, and the wealth gained by the rich, would not have been possible, had not people like me kept you safe.
@SteveCoxsey Lulz. You want a weird perspective? Comparing that to Rome or Russia? You have your history backwards -- Rome is more like what we are now, and we're not even close to the USSR (NOT RUSSIA). During the downfall of Rome, the wealthiest controlled all the money, and there was very little work for unskilled labor. In the USSR, the government dictated your wages according to your needs, not your job. How exactly is that ANYTHING like what we are/are becoming? Rome was a Plutonomy
@SoulBlazeK I didn't say we were becoming Rome or Russia - contemporary Russia, not the USSR. That guy said because he served in the military he had a claim on other people's money, that it's not their wealth. Military service leading to a right to take other people's money? Pretty corrupt and pretty creepy. I said that was not an American idea, but more like Rome or modern-day Russia.
@SteveCoxsey -- Your comment is about the sickest I've seen on youtube.
We do have an obligation to take care of disabled veterans who put their lives on the line even for disgusting creeps like you -- even though you think they have no "claim on other's people money".
@DillonDee1 You must be talking to the wrong person. I believe the country has the highest obligation to veterans, and especially disabled veterans. I didn't say anything contrary to that. Read before spewing.
This is nothing but a larded-up grabbag of Democrat goodies and pork, with the usual Republican suspects signing off on it. Nothing good in it but a temporary extension of the Bush tax cuts. It isn’t worth it. Get them out of town and let the Republican House take up the tax extension next year.
While I do disagree with some of the comments towards Obama(in the comment section, not from Bernie Sanders) , I do certainly applaud Sanders' use of the block of time to actually raise awareness on pretty much every issue that has been RARELY mentioned by democrats, and NEVER MENTIONED BY REPUBLICANS! A lesser man would have got up there and read the phone book from a-z.
Screw the red scare crap. Any American with an IQ of 10 or more can watch any video of Bernie then watch a video of Mitch McConnel and tell the difference between one who is a man of the people and one who is a whore for lobby groups.
Socialism an American nightmare, you people are so easily frightened, yet your so blind, socialism has at its roots, investing or bailing out troublesome companies, yes believe it, and who got this taxpayers money, yes the Banks, and who were strong advocates for this hand out to crooks, yes you go it , the capitalist junta, and you people cant see this.? good GOD you are morons !!!!
I watched the entire thing and never heard him say he was a Socialist. He did say that he was a Progressive and interested in protecting Democracy and that our country is becoming an Oligarchy.
I'm sick of that socialist label. Martin Luther King and civil rights marchers were called socialists for what? Being against forcing someone to sit at the back of the bus?
I'll take Bernie's socialism over John Bohner, Mitch McConnel, and Obama's whoring to rich lobby groups without a 2nd thought.
If you rabid anti commie types don't like it, then stop telling Americans that we have to be content with the status quo of the usual group of incompetent and corrupt Republicans.
Too bad he chooses to call himself a socialist. In my own opinion, he is just a great man with a whole bunch of common sense. My favorite part of all this? When he called the Bankster Gangsters CROOKS as he described the greatest transfer of wealth and power to a few Bankster crooks in human history, which the banks have orchestrated over the last several years.
I emailed my senators for the first time today because of this man. He made more sense with his actions and words yesterday than the last three presidents put together.
@opticrainbow ask your senators if they can explain how much Walmart pays in corporate tax. If they are honest with you they will tell you 8% and if they know what they are talking about they will say $0.00. Cut corporate tax breaks and shelf prices go up. No corporation pays tax. It is offset by inflation.
Bernie want's you to believe that Wallmart will profit from tax cuts. the opposite is true.
FDR got this country out of the depression that republican presidents harding , and hover got the nation into. don't ever believe that he made it last longer.
FDR got this country out of the depression that republican presidents harding , and hover got the nation into. don't ever believe that he made it last longer because of him. simple not true.
Anyone who seriously believes that the government is pandering to the poor and middle class has no clue what is really happening in this country. Oh and jimmy, if we had handed social security over to the banksters whil Bush was president, it would now be gone. I promise you there will never be a social security bailout and if you privatize it, the day will surely come when it is squandered, leaving millions who have contributed throughout their lives with nothing.
The former could be done with enforcing existing laws. The latter by strong political action. I say go #1 first, it'd be like slitting the elite's wrist so they couldn't protect their throat when we go for #2.
Do either, do both, there will be a massive LACK of workers for labor needed. Wages will skyrocket, and the rich elite will lose all the progress they made since the 50s.
I officially love this guy... if this is "socialism" then current "democracy" is the new communism.
On a side note, im just loving how we are setting ourselves up for an even bigger collapse, that shit before? the whole recession? that was damn foreplay for what is to come people.
Bernie Sanders reminds us that we are all in this lifeboat together and that the Founding Fathers, even in their slave-owning, evil ways, developed a Constitution that constructed a Commonwealth. That Commonwealth has been under attack since the 1960's and was stepped up when Reagan fired PATCO workers and significant union busting was "fair game" all over the country. America is now in a class warfare and the rich are winning BIG TIME.
Watched 1 hour of the CSPAN2 repeat and loved their request of at least 1 Republican to give a speech to the country about why we should get into more debt to give tax breaks to the big corps.
Look, if we ever get out of debt and back into the surplus arena, we can talk about tax breaks to Exxon, GE, Walmart, et al.
Government should be working in a complete overhaul of the tax code. Get rid of loop holes, give only breaks to companies that create more jobs in the country than they ship away.
I wish people would let their partisan views aside and used logic for a minute here. This country is in a HUGE DEBT. It's ill-advised to BORROW even more to give tax breaks to everyone.
Look at the data from start of tax cuts: rich have gotten way richer while the middle class remained steady. Factor in inflation and people are actually struggling.
It'd be fair to raise income level from 250K to 1M, but don't give breaks to corps that layoff employees so management can get bonuses!
Im going to do it the American way. I shall start a small business, and once my business becomes large and Lucrative, I will out source many jobs for cheap labor so that I can Maximize Profits. And oh yeah, make sure I keep my tax breaks! LMFAO!
Why can't this incredible man be our president...I am so disappointed in Obama it's hard to believe he turned out the way he did, he's nothing more than a republican.
Afraid of socialists ? Why ? It's such a naughty word now. But while they howl the lies about Obama the socialist, they are at the same time the biggest fans of communism. Borrowing money unnecessarily from China, sending jobs to off shore ? Sure people need jobs too but at our expense ? They strengthen the biggest bastion of communism to appease the shareholder proletariat. Corporations the new Nomenklatura.
Why can't Bernie run for president?

uhale 1 year ago 18
@uhale All that infrastructure can be paid for w/ a sales tax. Nobody ever asks why Congress needs to spend trillions of dollars. Personally, if we ended all military activities in Iraq & Afghanistan, we could afford a huge tax cut for everyone: rich, middle-class, and poor. And if two people are living in poverty and decide to have a baby, why doesn't one parent take on a second job to pay for health care? Why does a rich person have to be the 3rd parent? Or how about this:
MishuTaste 1 year ago
@MishuTaste Work your way up into a higher income bracket and THEN have a baby. There's no rule that one has to have a baby right away. I think having children should be a planned event instead of something that spontaneously occurs.
MishuTaste 1 year ago
@MishuTaste The Richest 2% only pays 15% in taxes almost half of you or me not 35%.....!
METALMAN4Wii 1 year ago
@METALMAN4Wii How can that be? The highest tax bracket is about 35% now. The overall point I'm trying to make is: If you raise taxes on the rich, is that going to solve the SPENDING problem? Congress loves to spend money & they don't care where it comes from or how much debt accumulates---just as long as they can spend money & brag to their constituents about what they did for them. I see a problem with that.
MishuTaste 1 year ago
@MishuTaste Well im with you on the spending I personally think a congress person shouldn't be paid over 100k a year. I figure if 45k is good for our police officers it's good for them as well. but still you can stick your fingers in your ears all you want and make the LA LA LA sound. but the truth is the Richest 2% only pays 15% in taxes and that hurts our national debt even more.....!
METALMAN4Wii 1 year ago
@METALMAN4Wii But why is there a national debt? And why can't it be paid off w/ the existing income tax rates?
MishuTaste 1 year ago
@MishuTaste Because of the Iraq War and everything that follows it like Wire Taping us and TSA. btw when Clinton left office we had a "Trillion Dollar Surplus". because The Rich paid there fair share and we weren't at war with a country for there Oil. because Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 it was ether Saudi Arabia or an inside job......?

Apfelfetischist 1 year ago
Are you saying real-estate as an asset? If so realize that China owned 20% of the real-estate in freddiemac & fannymay. The reason for implosion was the governments carelessness in lending $ to the banks who loaned it to the people. If we had less government control, all the loans would have had to be from the rich. It would have been good because all the money from the rich would be out in the market increasing economy. They would have been more careful with money. Instead we have inflation.

Apfelfetischist 1 year ago
The state isn't a corp. it's a democracy (it should be..). You as its citizen got the right to manipulate the behaviour of its policy. The infrastructure it creates is the base for any corp to create jobs, profit, groth well wealth. To strengthen the infrastructure (creating a regenerative energysystem and gettin' rid of the oil dependence f.E.) helps the country as a whole.
And you're mixing topics. We discussed the tax cut for Mr. Walton, not for Walmart ;).
Apfelfetischist 1 year ago
Re-read your sources. What Bernie is talking about isnt a tax cut. It's actually a plan not to increase taxes. Bernie is also mixing what the family makes and the company. If you believe what he said than you're a sheep.
Think about it. the to 5% of the richest people in the country are already taxes at close to 92 %. Will the remaining 8% equal his 20 something billion $? The answer is no.
If you believe 99% of people would rather work than get unemployment, you have never been outside.
oregonyetiman 1 year ago
You especially should know that we can't manipulate behavior. This government is fowelled. We need to go back to our roots.
oregonyetiman 1 year ago
"willing to work."
Apfelfetischist 1 year ago
He will not employ them. The corporate he's running is employing them. The corp doesn't need MR. Walton the company needs a working manegment and not a degenerated east coast "my dad got teh money so i got the master" prick.
WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME
Sometimes people need to fall
oregonyetiman 1 year ago
It's not giving goverment more money, it's giving people more money to spend. The 'goverment' is just a vehicle to do that. Law ftw. Also a positive effect would be that the influence on govermental decisions by rich families would be weakened. Another question is how to organise corporations in such a system. Hmm well stocks maybe im not completly sure about that. If we hypotheticly use my thesis of a 100% inherance tax capitalism and think it further there would be the possability to impruve
Apfelfetischist 1 year ago

In hard times like our depression; taxes should be cut in all markets to increase cash flows.
oregonyetiman 1 year ago
@oregonyetiman I agree with your strategy to improve the amout of cashflows but your strategy is simply wrong my dear. The crisis has shown to us that most of the investions made are just thrown into speculation at wall street, london ecetera.
You have to strenthen the demand. Give money to the poor people and they will spend it. Thus they'll create demand IN america AT your place.
Mr. Walton would by a new empty hotel in hamburg and hope that the ground prices rise (for exampel ..). ForTehLuLz!

By what "right" does the government confiscate personal property, on which a person has already paid taxes, simply because he dies... and then DARE to say it "cannot afford" to steal less of the person's money? The government does not own our wealth. We do. It is not the government's to give back or to "afford." The concept is obscene.
SteveCoxsey 1 year ago
@SteveCoxsey The govrnment does not own our money or us. we owe the government for making our functioning way of life possible, that is why we pay taxes, and that is why there is an estate tax. The money that keeps our infrastructure running is what allows someone to amass an Estate in the first place.
USBibble 1 year ago
@USBibble We pay taxes to support the government, yes, but that's not why there is an estate tax. There is an estate tax because redistributionists don't believe a person who builds a business and pays taxes all along the way can pass it on to his/her heirs. They outrageously tax inheritance, forcing families to sell a business or close it to pay the taxes. Systematic destruction of small business. Evil and un-American.

We need to:
1. Get RID of illegals.
2. End any tax break/subsidy for outsourcing.

Keeping saying "President Obama and the republican party"!
President Obama is not a socialist, he's not even a Liberal.
The Young Turks did a great a video about how President Obama is actually more conservative then President Reagan on 5 key issues.

America is now in a class warfare and the rich are winning BIG TIME.

lol @ jimmyzshow no, you're not going to become a conservative talk personality.

LMFAO!
