Scene would have been better had the cop's forehead been blown up instead of the back of his head (see instant 1:03 and compare to instant 1:49). His shoulders could have also been more brutally mutilated.

@1954moose u'll only lose your life if the neck is cut on an area with important veins, in the middle front area it's less deadly, depending on the depth of the cut (there are several medical procedures that involve cutting the pacients neck in a certain place in order for him to breath). also, a shotgun is a powerful weapon, however this only happens at close range, shotguns quickly lose their power over distance causing it to stop and lodge in the flesh before penetrating the vitals
