  • i saw this episode when it came out

  • what would you talk about each of those 75 days?

  • "will it never end for this talented young man?"

translation: "get this guy the fuck out of here he's costing us millions"

  • Who doesn't know that one though.

  • JUST BET IT ALL! YOURE KEN JENNINGS FOR GOD SAKE!

  • Joon was the shit.

  • Suck on it Trebek, Suck it long, and suck it hard

  • How to people get ready for jeopardy? Holy shit...

  • Some asian guy got 38,000 before double jeopardy and it's a commercial as of right now

    Will he beat ken jennings?

  • @m1me1111 fuck joon I hated him, haha.

  • lol i remember first seeing him when he was a 16-day champ...haven't seen the show in a while so i assumed that something was up, since i was used to the 5-day rule. and then i remember watching him every day until he lost. I bet he hates fedex forever now lol.

  • That record lasted 'til 9/14/2010.

  • It's sad to see that Watson wiped the floor with Ken Jennings.

  • 38 day champ??? holy crap hahaha

  • the other two contestants only had around 1 to 2 thousand, wow they were buttraped

  • If Ken Jennings was still the champion today..........

  • Best Jeopardy season ever

  • 38 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @zz0rzz plus 36 more

  • @noclassatall You're probably thinking of the movie quiz show, which was based on a true story. But that quiz show format was way easier to rig than jeopardy is.

  • BrainBattle answer ?

  • I remember this! This was such a great moment, not only in Ken's incredible run, but also in the show's history! Thanks for posting this, darijoe - 'twas awesome to see this moment again!

  • I love how the other two contestants barley have $1000

  • @Ahha3289 Actually, both of them had over $5,000 but they missed the Final Jeopardy question.

  • @AlecBoy006V2 no they had OVER 9000!

  • @noclassatall How is this relevant to your original claim that it was fixed? And why hire Ken? And how could he manage to buzz in so fast? How could he memorize so much and blow out so many people?

Some people are a bunch of paranoid conspiracy SOB's I swear.

  • @noclassatall Proof?

  • @noclassatall Few weeks? The rule was changed at the beginning of season 20. This clip is from the season finale of that season. It was several months after they changed the rule.

  • He won an additional 36 times

  • he won 75,000 while the other ppl had 1200 and 1800...i'd fucking kill myself

  • he could have had 100g's to bad everyone on jep is retarded

  • Ken Ken Ken Ken Ken Ken!

  • Ken Jennings had sex with a calculator once. The result was Watson

  • I wanna see him go against the super computer that jeopardy made (walter i think they named it)

  • @TheAeroMechanic omg i cant wait to see that. he and brad rutter are going up against the computer and his name is watson. just thought you should know. :)

  • @somberNdeep23 Oh right yeah watson.

  • @TheAeroMechanic Its watson

  • I still cant believe that on his last final jeopardy , where the answer was a firm that only works 4 months out of the year, he wrote FEDEX.

  • @gatewood99 He had to have thrown that last question because why would he of all people put FedEx down when most people know mail is delivered year round. Seems fishy :)

  • @CrazySpaz833 Big shipping companies hire a LOT of seasonal workers to handle the Christmas rush every year. FedEx was a very plausible answer.

  • @ArmadilloAl That's true, but I thought the question asked for a firm that 'only' works 4 months out of the year. Even though FedEx may hire seasonal workers, it's still a yearly firm.

  • @CrazySpaz833 I just looked at the clue...it asked for the firm where the *workers* only worked for 4 months, not the firm. The part that ruled out FedEx was actually the word 'white-collar'. But still, if you do your own taxes (like Ken admitted he did), that can be a tough clue to tease out.

  • Damn, should've gone for the 100k but I can't blame him for not

  • And this was at the half-way point in Ken's reign.

  • The 21st season premiere of Jeopardy was taped in late April 2004 and aired September 6, 2004.

  • Well, that day, there was an end-of-the year of Jeopardy! And at the end of Season 20, we weren't able to complete his streak on Jeopardy! So we continued this incredible streak for Ken Jennings on September 6th. But first, in the summer hiatus, there was the College Championship from July 26-Aug 3, the Teen Tournament from Aug 6-20, Kids Week from Aug 23-27, and Power Players from Aug 30-Sept 3. Words said,"Ken Jennings' streak: To Be Continued..." on September 2004.

  • Well, I'd tell you. When I first saw Jeopardy! in 2004, I was watching "Jeopardy!" history in the making! At that point, Ken Jennings has won 38 games and has a total of $1,321,660. Already, a record on Jeopardy!

  • ken's awesome, but that was a really easy final. a lucky guess would have easily been a correct response

  • Ken Jennings sets the one-day record on Jeopardy! At that time, 20th season of Jeopardy came to an end even though Ken Jennings' run was still in progress

  • They should have at least required you to name 3 of 4; 2 of 4 is just way too easy.

  • When the next Tournament of Champions appears for now, it's possible Roger Craig might not be a semifinalist because of Tom Nissley about to have a seventh game of his own tonight.

  • @jonghyunchung

And so Tom did. How far do you think he'll go?

  • @Ragitsu

Roger Craig did not make more than 7 appearances, but Tom is about to have an 8th.

  • Anyone know what Ken's doing now?

  • thats such an easy final question.

  • could have been cool if the new one day record was $100,000

  • @David9788 Each time I watch Jeopardy I have a glimmer of hope for a new record :D!

  • @fb767 roger craig broke ken jennings one day record of $77,000 on season 27

  • @David9788 Really? I didn't know, gotta check it out

  • @fb767 i saw it on video

  • @David9788 That's why he changed the title for this video.

But it's important to remember, just because the single-day winning record was surpassed six years later doesn't mean Ken Jennings was any less famous on Jeopardy. Practically any record on Jeopardy can be surpassed. It's just like the Guinness World Records. Even if your record gets surpassed, you still get equal recognition.

So there's no need for you to try to defame the video. This video has been up years before Roger Craig was on.

  • I think the guys on the show take more time doing the math when placing their bets than just answering the question.

  • , janitor duties at the time travel center in 2022 for the dude with a name patch that said 'ken' and 25 years of jeopardy on dvd came in handy

  • in poker we call what Alex did to Ken a slowroll.

  • Ken Jennings is the man.

  • @feioncastor you are right ken is the man

  • HAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • Roger Craig beat Ken Jenning's total a few days ago

  • @Wilhemet

At least Ken will still keep his record of winning the most games ever on Jeopardy!.

  • Roger Craig is the best player I've seen in a while.....although he damn near slipped up today. However I still like his style. If you come across a double Jeopardy in a catagory you feel strong in then bet like it's final Jeopardy. I've seen so many contestants make 1-2 thousand dollar wagers that won't do them any good at all. If I ever make it to the show I'll either win or go down swinging!

  • just watched last night NEW RECORD

  • This applied until today

  • Jeopardy contestant Roger Craig just broke this record with $77,000

  • @colbyistehBOMB I know! AMAZING! Did you all see it?

We're off to a flying start, aren't we?

  • @SuperGamer7 yeah, I know. I wonder if anybody will ever win $100,000 in one game.

  • @colbyistehBOMB

But he only won 6 games, with his cash winnings less than 10% of Ken Jennings' total winnings.

  • @jonghyunchung I know, I wrote that comment when he was still a champion.

  • his record was just broken in today's jeopardy

  • and it was only halfway done after this point...

  • @Boulderdawg2 I know brad rutters mom

  • Alex Trebek is so fucking annoying

  • Jennings was good but I'm not sure he would even rank top all time if the older guys were allowed to go past 5 games. I think Chuck Forrest was really good. Although he didn't do well in the various tornaments later on. All that said there is no doubt Brad Rutter was the best to ever play the game.

  • @Boulderdawg2

Chuck ran into bad luck in the tournaments - he never could hit the daily doubles. Its hard to say if Rutter was the best because he never competed on 75 games in a row - what amazes me most about Jennings is his extreme quick response on the buzzer.

  • @jimraw1 The only way to really judge is head to head. When that happened Rutter pretty much mopped the floor with Jennings.

In any case I think it's about time for another super tournament.

In the last five years I've watched Jeopardy on and off so I can't truly judge but I haven't seen any player that could really hang with either Jennings or Rutter

  • Damn, I thought that you could only win 5 times in a row, but...I guess not >.<

  • @ramiel555 It used to be 5 times as the maximum until that season that Ken started. Talk about good timing...

  • @darijoe Ah, I see....yeah, for real, great timing :D

  • @darijoe they probably decided to drop the whole thing. ratings are everything

  • @darijoe Nobody since Ken has won so many games either...TALK ABOUT A GENIUS.

  • @rayj778 Let's just hope that no one ever does.

  • what would you think if ken jennings bet all of his money and got right

  • he loses to the zerg he was overwhelmed

  • lol i remember this guy, nobody could beat him

  • You know Alex is pissed, Ken just won more in one show than he did his whole damn salary.

  • This was the final Jeopardy in Season 20 that Ken Jennings won. In September 6, 2004, Jeopardy! began a 21st season in Ken's next episode.

  • At 0:25, this is taken from his Final Jeopardy reactions.

  • @CheerBoyX1 Actually he didn't lose any money on the last day.

  • @CheerBoyX1 yeah he didn't try on the last day I don't blame him he's already won so much

  • @CheerBoyX1

    Hey, who's an idiot?

  • @CheerBoyX1 lol he lost everything? He lost nothing!

    UR SO STUPID ROFL REALLY...

    WHAT A COMMENT!

  • I watch Jeopardy evey day at 3:30 and 6:30

    so much fun

  • @MrKorbrick same here, do u watch it the second time with your family and try to impress them by answering all of the questions?

  • Yeah, he cleaned Jeopardys clock all right, but he brought in ratings like crazy. I was 14/15 years old during his run, and I watched him everyday, until football started and I thought I was never going to get to watch him again due to practice, and after my entire high school season ended, I went home after school and turned it on, and the guy was still playing! It was nuts!

  • BOSS

  • Ken Jennings was the king of Jeopardy!

  • I would have guess Hamlet and Macbeth

  • I remember this. =P

  • What about Cymbeline? That one has ghosts appearing onstage.

  • I LOVE KEN JENNINGS! :D

  • wow that's a lot of cash!!

  • Lol 38 Day! Wow o_O, that guy is good!

  • Isn't that the "What's a ho" guy?

  • @pite9 Yes it certainly is!

  • @darijoe haha he is lol

  • @pite9 Affirmative. And the biggest genius in history. Ten times the genius Einstein ever was.

  • They had to pay him to leave. He lost on such a easy question.

  • ugh, that ken guy looks corney and creepy

  • google doe's account, its insane.

  • Easy question.

  • hes such a tool he always made even thousands of dollars when he could

  • Except he's the millionaire, while you're the dumbass trying to flame him anonymously on Youtube. If he's a tool, what exactly does that make you then? Epic fail? My thoughts exactly.

  • Nice grammar at the end alex trebek

  • What's wrong with his grammar?

  • ken jennings should come back and win for the next 2 months

  • genius

  • ken is awesome

  • That's kinda gross. And besides, that has nothing to do with KEN JENNING'S 38 DAY WIN!!!

  • i knew hamlet and macbeth were one of the two. i didn't know the other 2

  • why didnt he got for 100 thousands

  • @mrkidd1 Yeah I wish he did, but if he risked the $48,600 he needed to get to $100,000 and didn't know the answer while the others did, he would have probably lost the game with $2,800. He would have looked so stupid had he lost!

  • @darijoe But he would lose eventually

  • @StefanHRasmussen Of course he would eventually lose, but the fact is he had got himself into a position where on this episode he was so far out in front, it would be idiotic to risk losing if you didn't need to by betting less, benefiting him by not losing then and earning more money in the meantime and losing later.

  • Mr Kidd, Why bother, he knew he was coming back to clean house again. Heh...

  • you have to wager the money before you hear the question.

  • @mrkidd1

He didnt go for 100grand cuz if he got it wrong he would lose the game and never play again

  • holy shizzle my cockizzle

  • dang.

  • omfg I just came in my pants

  • EASY!!!!! Holy shit!! Macbeth and Hamlet!

  • 2.5 for your Wife seems good

  • I bet you that he saved all of his money that he won on Jeopardy, and if I'm wrong than I'm wrong.

  • how much money did he have before he lost

  • $2,520,700. He got another $2,000 for second the day he lost.

  • wow the producers and shit from jeopardy must have reeaaaalllly hated jennings...all that cash

  • @Satanus66 im sure they loved him, considering he must have boosted ratings through the roof.

  • Who ever beat Ken Jennings?

  • Her name was Nancy Zerg. She won the game on Ken's 75th appearance.

  • she didnt really beat him, he kinda beat his self

  • @hexman2209

    Please explain...

  • he wagered a lot of money on double jeopardy questions and kept losing them, then missed an easy final jeopardy question. he still answered the majority of the questions.

  • I always thought he missed that EASY final question on purpose

  • @hexman2209 they probably bribed him

  • RIP BOB BARKER

  • motherfucker. that guy is brilliant. Now only if he had been on millionaire he could have gotten the 1 mil. much quicker. :P

  • Yeah.. He was.... But RIP BOB BARKER

  • God ken was awesome, you think they'd ever let him back on?

  • he was on the tournament of champions and came in second to Brad Rutter

  • they did for a special champions competition but he actually lost and came in 3rd, it wasn't a very long competition though

  • I can't take a joke.

And I meant to type 1/2.5

I had no idea != meant not equal to.

  • No doubt your conservative father or mother told you that nonsense.

In addition to his trivial intelligence, I'm quite certain he has the wherewithal to find legal ways and tax loopholes to avoid the typical 35-40% tax that would be rendered upon his winnings.

  • 70? I thought it was ten?

  • 2.5 million in winnings, H&R Block senior vice president David Byers estimated Jennings tax to 1 million according to Wikipedia.

  • ya?

  • 1M tax on 2.5M winnings != 70%

  • Where'd you learn how to do math?

    2.5/1 = .4

    40%

  • I was under the impression that "!=" meant "does not equal". Thats why I used it to explain that 1/2.5 doesn't equal 70%. Am I wrong about "!="?

Besides, the equation in your comment (2.5/1) equals 2.5, not 0.4. =)

bobbybj2: Hehe, well some people are serious with those figures.

  • lmao this is the greatest

  • RIP BOB BARKER

  • ken lost on jeopardy on purpose

  • That would be illegal. It's 40% tax now 70.
