Kirk is, or at least was, blindingly fast but..well..plays the blues more often than well.

But then again Clapton has never even been near standing on a stage and laid down a 2 1/2 hour marathon of insanely complex riffs and rhythms like Kirk has.

In my view, though, Knopfler blows Clapton clean and dry out of the water, and Dave Mustaine does the same with Kirk Hammett.
