  • She is beautiful. :-) She couldnt have asked for a better mom.

  • Sorry to comment so late after this was posted, but hopefully you will see this and answer. My son is five and not as verbal as your daughter was when she was five, but with intensive ABA and speech, he is vocalizing some. He will repeat just about anything but never initiates. What did you do to bring her so far from the first video? We want to give our child ever possible opportunity.

  • I love watching Brie's videos. I think she is adorable, and she reminds me a lot of me when I was younger. I am curious, now that Brie has progressed so much since that first video, do you now consider her high-functioning (not mild, just high-functioning). She didn't seem so at age five, but even in the first update, there is a huge difference.

  • @littlelily613 - Thanks for the compliment. I actually try not to call her anything because people are so quick to say their child is "high functioning" yet people use that term to mean different things (average IQ or verbal). I like how you differentiate the term "mild" from "high functioning". Those terms definitely confuse people. She still meets all of the criteria for Autism but she is steadily making progress.

  • WOW! Bre your'e great! And daddy serving our Country. So glad to have met you, God bless mommy, daddy and Bre!

  • If I could hug you right now, I would. God bless you and your beautiful daughter. If you could please tell her that she has given me a lot of hope today and some happy tears. This is probably my favorite movie even over any of the big disney movies I've ever seen :)

  • @sororenotis Thanks for your sweet comments. They mean a lot to me. Have you seen Brie's newest video?

Good luck in your journey with your child. Please keep me updated.

  • @jlmlorimer yes ma'am I have - It was beautiful!

  • @jlmlorimer hello, i am worried my son has autism. he functions well. walks good.get do alot of things like move chairs to climb and get what he wants. he just turned 3. the only thing that bothers me is that he only says a couple things. bye, see ya, no and go away, he can also count to 8, but what really worries me is that he waves his hands very regular while staring into them. he also lines things up obsessively and spins wheels on cars or tricycles almost constantly. i dont know what to do.

  • @jlmlorimer i am currently trying to get help from a preschool thing and a speech pathologist. i am so lost right now and im worried about him. one thing i will say is that he loves hugs and is very attached to me. he speaks jibberish and pulls u to what he wants. he is having a really hard time speaking. its almost like he doesnt want to. you can get him to repeat things occasionally but he gets mad if u push the subject to much. i just would like to know what made u realize what was going on.

  • @k0rps3gynd3r I would highly recommend a book called "Autism in your classroom" by Deborah Fein & Michelle Dunn. It is an easy read and gives great suggestions for teachers as well as anyone who has or is working with a child on the spectrum. It is one of my favorites. I buy copies for anyone working with my child. It is reasonably priced too at about $20. Good luck. Please let me know if there is anything I can help with!

  • also ur daughter is beeeeauttttiful and she is very happy. :-)
