this is a valid discussion, and I was not making light of it. and also, being an outsider from this all, I am not sure if my opinion is welcome or needed. that being said, there was a comedian back in the 60's named Lenny Bruce. "any n*gg*rs in the house?" was his big "hit", so to say. basically, he thought if everyone said it, it would take the poison out of the word, leaving it to be a common greeting. to sum it up. the idea had some flaws, but it was a start.
If the word "nigga" is defined by you as pain and oppression, there's absolutely no reason why you should ever say it in any context, there are many ways to tell your "brother" that you understand his struggle without calling him a nigga. this is a valid discussion, and I was not making light of it. and also, being an outsider from this all, I am not sure if my opinion is welcome or needed. that being said, there was a comedian back in the 60's named Lenny Bruce. "any n*gg*rs in the house?" was his big "hit", so to say. basically, he thought if everyone said it, it would take the poison out of the word, leaving it to be a common greeting. to sum it up. the idea had some flaws, but it was a start.

When I say that word to another black man, I am saying I can relate to his struggle and view him as a brother in that cause whether he knows he's in it or not, because we were born commonly.
