  • lol kawai desu

  • you made with maya 3d? how you made it i am new in MAYA i downloaded 4 minutes ago :p

  • kana-chan!!

  • KANA!!!!!

  • fuck my life!

    what a beautiful smile xD

  • Really neat!

  • good stuff champ. i know this girl too

  • I'm one of those who disliked that.

  • This video is Kana free!....wait OHMYGOOD RUUUN!

  • Look like a zombie but awesome!

  • Tsukurimashou tsukurimashou~ I like that song!!!!!

  • I also want to use clothFX to make hair animation...my hair style is long hair←standard style

And ... do you have any suggestions how to split it?

i think one plane maybe separate to one chunk, because when i use the whole hair model, the simulation result will be weird><

thinks for a lot lot and lot^^

  • execute me.

I looked the Review, would you said your hair is separated to many chunk, isn't it?

Then you set the clothFX for them respectively, respectively.

So what the meaning of "group" function?

    i don't understand this sentence.

「I use the "group" function to separate the hair object for several areas.」

And, how many chunk did you separated?

i guess, a tail for 2, and the front chunck may be ....11 (i guess XD)

Probably need to separate so much?

  • Thumbs up for Kana!!

  • @maxmayaxsi Wow thanks for that.

I really need to know how to get the hair right.

Is the whole hair one mesh?

or are the pony tails seperate?

and the front part of her hair? is that also seperate?

When I use cloth physics on 3ds max with pony tails they pass through or stretch.

And I tried alot of settings

  • so cute *__*

  • These anime/3D vid's always scare the crap out of me....

  • Cock goes where?

    Just kidding, nice clip! =)

    great toon shade render :D

  • lol kana!from minami! yayz <3

  • hey this is awesome!

I've only just started Maya (by the same company that made 3DS Max), and I've been using it for 5 weeks now. So I'm what you call a total noob. Could ya post a tutorial on how to get the mesh in the right shape, and getting the hair to move in that way :)

  • Love Kana ^^

  • kana ^^

  • mkay awesome music

  • Why does she look so angry?

  • Thanks for the info! I have been wondering how to do this.

  • the hair looks great. So, the entire hair is one single object, created from the sphere, and then the cloth modifier is applied, and you give different strands different weights? How do you manage to make the hair return to its original position and shape after simulation?

  • What plugins and Modifiers u use?

    Did u use 3ds Max?

  • SoftImage XSI

  • cooking is so fun, cooking is so fun, now it's time too take a break and see what we have done.

i'm now certian i've watched too much anime, i remember chiyo and kana right off he top of my head, sheesh.. ^.^'

  • I LOVE YOU FRUITY!!!!!!!!

  • Love it! Fantastic.

  • how do you attach the hair to the head?

  • meg was here

  • lol

  • kind of creepy :D

  • That is so cool!

May I ask how you did this? It's the type of hair I'm aiming for. Thanks a lot!

  • The movement of hair is not controlled by the rig or bone objects.I use 3ds max clothFX to simulate the animation. You need to setup the hair as cloth and the head as collide object.

  • Thanks so much!

Can I also ask for one more thing?

Can I have the parameters for the cloth?

    Thanks!

  • Oops! I commented on my sisters account! She forgot to sign out. Sorry about that! Can you please reply on this comment please? Not the one above. Thanks a lot!

    -GreenPuffle

  • i realy like the work on this character. Ive been trying to get hair working for a while but now it seems that the bit of part I am trying to simulate starts to morph into something else. I hope you dont mind sending me the parameter setings you had for the cloth modifier? :S

  • @maxmayaxsi such an awesome result!

  • AHHAHAHAHAHA the face expression XD

  • hey great hair xD

can i ask, it's just the default hair dynamics or do u have some custom stuffs or settings~?

  • hi~this is the 3ds max 8 cloth,I use the "group" function to separate the hair object for several areas, set every area diffent parameters to make the hair movement better.

  • i see, thanks for the info ~

    another thing, is it possible for me to see how u model her hair please? as in the wireframes~ i'm kinda interested as i'm currenly modelling an anime character too~ haha ^^;

  • I use polygon modeling tools.first,I create a sphere object, put it in the top of the head, delete the bottom faces(keep top half of the sphere),then extrude the edges in the brink of the sphere for several times to build the front hairs and the side hairs, adjust the vertex, make them to a nice hair shape, them give the hair a "shell" modifier in the 3ds max modify stack to give the hair some thickness.then smooth the hair.

sorry for my bad english, hope you can understand what I've said^_^

  • thanks a lot again! ~ i think i have a rough idea on how you did it =)

    thanks for sharing ^^

  • This is good stuff man. I love the toon look. The dynamic hair is nice too.

  • Thank you!I've seen your video, your work is nice too.

  • cool, man. Seems I am the only one who is supporting.
