  • I wanted to see a DeLorean

  • Great work!!

  • Its also possible with rotoscoping the car in subtraction

  • Lets hope we have enough Road to hit 88 MPH...

  • @Jakeola1 Where we're going we don't need roads...

  • @Jakeola1 Where we're going we don't need roads...

  • very nice job

  • I need to get me after effect..all i have is the premier pro

  • very nice

  • with the lights on=fail ! :))

  • Nice effect! :D

  • how is this time related? seemed more like invisible glowing car

  • @lokikeanu a much simpler way to do what your saying is just to have the driver turn the headlamps on later in the clip, then you won't have to match clips together

  • rather like this effect its nice to see a bit of verity on here but there is one thing ill say (hope you dont mind) the lights on the actors legs come in far too soon, im guessing this is cos of the headlights of the car, but they are clearly seen before the car is, personally would have just recorded the raw footage during the day and used curves and tint to make it dark then added lights after wiht lense flare and blur, just a personal thought though :) aside from that real nice job

  • oh nice

  • Who's been video taping Chuck Norris driving his car!?!

  • Cool lightening transition effect but there were mistakes I noticed. You clearly just drove the car into the picture b/c u can see the headlight reflection on his pants/ shadow of the car run across the street and sidewalk.

  • I JUST MISS THE DELOREAN

  • I can do that in real life!

  • dude, if you did time replacement then you are problably lying, i could do that in 5 minutes with some simple color key

  • @10tmoore I don't know what "time replacement" effect of which you are speaking, but you are right in that I would be lying if I said I used it, because I didn't. I used time displacement. Color key is for keying, time displacement is for displacement mapping. They are different effects and will therefore yield different results. Plus, color key will only really work if you have a color to key out such as a green screen which this shot does not have.

  • @AaronJamesPatterson heyy can you make a tutorial for this effect please :$

  • @AaronJamesPatterson I think i know what he is talking about... with a linear chroma you can actually key black ot, leaving the reflections only

  • @sebasrobot55 Like I said before, keying and displacement mapping are totally different effects with different results. Last time I checked there is black in the background of the shot as well as the fact that having just the light areas/reflections of a car show up, does not constitute the same effect. Far from it.

  • @sebasrobot55 sorry for being 4 months late but that is exactly what i was talking about

  • @AaronJamesPatterson Cane you help me plss where to free download this program !!

  • I gotta say this is awesome sauce and I am loving it.

Keep up the good work. :)

  • VideoCopilot ;)

  • could you do a tutorial for this. its really good!

  • genial el efectos

  • Alright, where's the DeLorean?

  • no, its a car :)

  • Very nicely done, looks great. The only thing i can point at is the shadow before the car appears, right at the groundlevel. But the rest is very good =)

  • cool XD

  • That was the predator effect, correct?

  • GREAT SCOTT

  • did u used displacement map for the car??

  • @6BlackWood9 I used Time Displacement, which is essentially a displacement map generated by the same footage you are displacing, but at a different point in the timeline.

  • hey dude you should make lik a sic movie

  • is that volvo?

  • Inspired by Back to the future, right?

  • try doing one how an old car turns into a new car, or vice versa.

  • @HellsRaven4444 That would be a pretty cool effect. But I'd prefer a transformers type effect for that instead of this. Still would be fun to try out.

  • wtf does time machine have to do?

  • Very impressive man! Tha'ts pretty good!

  • neat affect but looks like a corsica, could yah have used something better?

  • emmet brown would be proud

  • FAKE AND Ga- lol jk

  • JAMES PATTERSON IS MY FAVORITE AUTHOR

  • This completely sucks. That was *not* 66 mph.

    lol jk, great fx.

  • that can't be 88 miles per hour

  • great job dude, keep rollin' =D

  • You see the shadow of the car before it appears :P

  • @Timvanhelsdingen the headlights ^^ but awesome

  • that was nice man good job.

  • amazing work

    keep rocking :)

  • thanks a lot, i will be waiting for the tutorial!.

  • a microphone from a dollar store would be good enough

  • @AaronJamesPatterson by a cheap mick for only 30 $

  • its a cool reveal in for the vehicle but the lightning need to be worked on some more

  • Wonderful

  • this is the best

  • wow shit dude this is awesome

  • im deff gonna need a tutorial for this dude...

  • Great!

  • whooooooooooooooooooooooooa!!!

  • you should use that effect in one of your videos. it'll look siiiick.

  • nice that waz cool!!!

can u amke a tutorial of or just give e links to where i can lern all of this.

  • can u do a tutorial or a how to?

  • Wow that is amazing =]

  • come one guys dont be jealous, this video made with after effect is awesome! Good job.

  • Your camera is off-balance :) Anyway it's really nice, but you could've added some interactive lighting to the ground and the car.

  • Hahaha I don't care if it's a test. These are my thoughts. Period.

Have you never been exposed to critique before?

  • got to admit commenting on shot composition and lighting for a test video for the VFX is ridculous though.

Comment on the effect next time, that's what the test is for.. it's not a lighting test

  • RighteousFool, you're a complete tool, as he said, it's a test.

    Go back in your closet

  • Time displacement is just the kind effect that makes Simple to do things look INCREDIBLE!!!

  • Nice test. Looks like a great start.

  • That´s kinda harsh, big guy!

  • It's an effect test, that's why the shot isn't set up well. It's just a random shot from some extra stuff I had lying around.

I agree about the lightning, though. It was a last minute addition, and I've never been satisfied with it. But this was a test I just did for fun one afternoon, so I doubt I'll revisit it anytime soon.

  • You don't have to justify your good work to some asshole who has no videos created by him on his page...Fuckin critics those who can't do hate

  • hey please tell me how do you do that I need to make a school video project and I want to do something like backe to the future... Please make a tutorial

  • HOLY SHIT That was fucking awesome.

  • hey do you have any tutorial for that? if so lemme know or send me a website where u can learn how to do dat

  • not bad

  • man do a tutorial, plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz will be really useful

  • shit,...I like it!!

  • impressive effect

  • rotfl...that was FUNNY! Add that to a mustang...*cough cough* KITT...that's gonna be cool.

  • That'd look well good, if the lightning was replaced with something else. Great job, though.

  • that was cool u have to pay for the soware i am useing the trial i need help useing it can eny one help me

  • hey guys is there anyway to make a diecast Delorean stopmotion with adobe after effects or a normal video and add adobe after effects to it so it dosent look like its moving then al of a sudden it just disaperies with no explosoin no fire trails no nothing.

  • Great effect!

  • That actually almost looks better than 'Back To The Future' a lot more modern, definitely.

  • it looks like the 2008 version of BTTF Back to the Future(2008) coming December 31,2008

  • o snap! that was awesome

  • Never mind. I think I got it to work.

  • I tried to download the adobe after effects you used but it didn't work.

  • great work! amazing ;) 5/5

  • Thats an awesome time travel effect, whats the software you were using?

  • Adobe After Effects 6.5

  • wow that got me thinking whether or not in the future people will die from getting run over by one of these things

  • this is actually quite awesome. great work!

  • Looks really good! You've got me all curious about the Time Displacement effect now...

  • very nice!

  • looked real

  • very nice!! great editing! 5*

  • awesome!

  • That looked pretty damn great!!

  • one small detail..the light showing on the guy's legs

  • Yeah, this is only a test, but if you were to do it for an actual project that's something you'd want to avoid. There are many ways around that problem, though.

  • how would you do that? other than turning the head lights off

  • Well since the camera is stationary, it would be super easy to film it twice. Especially since the guy and the car do not overlap. Then you can just mask it down the middle in between the guy and the car. I already masked the reflection of the headlights out from the glass on the building in the background. It would be pretty easy.

  • I like the fact that the light arrives before the car itself. Depends on your taste. Nice vid.

  • yeah that is pretty cool and all, but to actually travel through time, (if it only it were possible) you would have to travel faster then light, but it does look good none the less

  • pretty cool!

  • woah that looks hell trippy nice job dude

  • Respect! AWESOME!!!

  • thats awesome, there are endless possibilities with that software

  • nice effect, oh can u subscribe me, i subscribe you back too!

  • Hey its Alec your cousin, Awsome video hope to see you soon

  • new back to the future:):)
