I have read the book so many times and it still gives me the chill. Your review was harsh and exaggerated. How would you rate the 2nd part then, by the way? I did laugh at the latter. The extent of bad acting is undescribable, the special effects, costumes and all the scare was cheapster. Maybe 1 out of 400?

Pretty good review, I agree 100% about the book, I never really want to look at the book again after I read it, but the movie wasnt as bad as you claim it to be, there's the occasional bad acting but I thought the effects were pretty decent and acceptable for its time, The plot reminds me of one of those movies where the main character never learns his lesson and pays for it in the end. 4/10 is kinda harsh but its your opinion and I will not bash you for that, my rating though: 6/10

Really good review. I agree with your re-watch/re-read theory: I've read the book once, and I've seen the movie about five times. I disagree with your judge of Dale Midkiff. I thought he was pretty good. Maybe not as movie-Louis, but as a book-to-screen adaptation, he was pretty much perfect. I particularly liked the scene in which he is digging up the body, and he has that horrible, deranged look on his face. But you're entitled to your own opinion.

First time I read the book, knowing nothing about the story in advance other than expecting evil animals to come out the cemetery and try to kill the family, which would of course get away and live happily ever after....sweet god how disturbing that story was, being my first King novel, though I knew of his stories. The book deals with the grief and loss of sanity in death, which gives life to true horror, rather than scares and monsters, though the Wendigo appears. The movie does not compare.
Maybe it's because I'm small minded, but I actually liked this movie....it was very faithful to the book and left its mark on me at a very young age...especially the scene where Jud is killed...

Im a big fan of Stephen king movie and this is one that i like.. i love Cemetary at first place ..and i have grew whit that movie..my mother like horror movie and she make of me a lover of those. The one that i like the less is Sleepwalker.

I didn't like it. To say the truth, I just thought it was boring, but my mom did recognize the old man, being played by Fred Gwynne, who was Herman Munster. She liked him from that show.

YES this is the review in your stephen king ones that iv been waiting for, (as well as misery). The movie is alright but it doesnt beat the book, I think Pet Sematary 2 was a good enough movie even though there was no second book and it was probably just made to make more money off the name Pet Sematary.

I dont believe it deserved that, but im pretty sure I watched a remake of it, basically a updated one, but I did watch a Stephen King pet seminary. Dont know which one lol, but it was alright, not one of the best ones based off of the book, but It was a pretty good movie.
