seems like a perfect waste of your money when all you get is boring hour after hour viewing the aircraft engine's exhaust. Instead, we'd prefer, as @MalamBala says, to travel 11 hours, see landscape, meet friendly people.

When your trip is only 2 weeks, you can leave Tamale, arrive at KIA in Accra and leave that night. Otherwise you have to travel 12 hours each way ane take another day at each end.
The bus trip is long and hot. The country is beautiful if you are doing the tourist thing. If you are going for to volunteer you time it is better used serving the people.
I traveled the bus 2 times and plane 1 time. I will take the plane whenever I have the chance.

yeah, but you see nothing when flying. ghana is a beautiful country, and its worth to travel 11 hours, see the landscape, meet friendly people.
