  • Nirvana Jr.

  • wat about the traffic sound? where is it?

  • @faridjabba they only mic'd the amps and drums and vocals. Why would we want to hear traffic?

  • @PieceofMindmusic , how come the street audio aint go thouggh those mics?

  • @faridjabba -because they are close-range mics, designed specifically not to pic up other noises other the instruments.

  • what he yelles at end?

  • @faridjabba what does that even mean?

  • Ha! Bill's mastercard!

  • What guitar is he playing?

  • daniel is the only reason why i would consider buying a prs guitar

  • i remember watching this live and i also remember all the comparrisons to Kurdt Kobain and NIrvana after this especially considering Kurdt had commited suicide not long before..but they were pretty damn good for being as young as they were

  • @psychoXdown fuck yeah they were like 15 when they did this.

  • I was an adult when many were still kids...lol. But, I have been a diehard fan since 1995...

  • Horrible mix. The bass is the loudest instrument, and you can barely hear the guitar at all. I blame Kurt Loder.

  • @deutscherjoel - Exactly what I was going to say.

  • true words....

  • A message that sadly still rings true today...

  • I was always jealous of his guitar...still am!!

  • i miss them...such a great band!

  • hahaha i know! probably why i loved them so much...that and they were from NSW!

  • oh shit compare the vma 2011 with this

    silverchair rocks

  • My favourite Band for 11years +...

  • how i wish i was there

    watching them live !!

    huhu

  • double kick overkill, shame on the drummer...easy to do tho.

  • puke mexico (8)

  • Mesmerizing!

  • it sounds like he's saying "Bill's Mastercard"

  • @extremehockeyfan

    wie ASOSIZIAL kann man sein?

  • epic song.. fucking legendary album!!

  • They were just kid at the time and wrote some real deep tunes.

  • mir war damals schon klar, das er depressiv ist. weil er meine worte/gefühle gesungen hat. Hey-Songschreiber und Singer, ich hoffe Dir geht es gut!

  • I think he shit his pants on that last scream!!!

  • damn i still find it hard to believe they were making this awesome music at only 15! suck on that beiber, jonas brothers and hanson lol

  • is he wearing a you am i shirt?

  • @ 76waylon same here, i was 16..pure bands, pure voice, pure talent and pure music minded people last 90's, not the same now, all songs are empty....

  • ugh, kurt loder

  • is johns is wearing a kurt cobain suit!

  • Too bad young people can't make rock music like this anymore. I heard a lot of people badmouthing Nirvana but if these are the type of bands Nirvana inspired then we need more bands like Nirvana!

  • @420Guitar420 (rips shirt off and flexes chest) Who the fuck bad-mouthed Nirvana?!

  • @420Guitar420 Nirvana really were not that great... at least no where near good enough to be considered the "greatest band of all time" like they have been labeled . Seriously anyone who says that should be shot. even kurt would agree, thats probably why he killed himself. because his fans are tards.

  • @laynestaley1990

1990 was that the year you were born?haha NIRVANA not that good...pshhhhhhh it blows away todays music!

I wouldnt say they were the best of all time but they were one of the best ! Next time you post a comment like that mabye you should shoot yourself in the face.

  • I didnt say they werent better than most modern music. but that doesnt mean they are anywhere near as good as thier other "grunge" peers. If you were truly into music you would realize theres nothing about nirvana that wasnt done first or better by bands like alice in chains or soundgarden. the only reason nirvana got so famous was because they were good at writing catchy pop riffs wrapping them in depressing lyrics and spoon feeding them to angry teens. If you deny this then youre hopeless

  • @laynestaley1990 right, it was that simple *facepalm*

  • @10ccalanarkush It was that simple... even Kurt has said it himself.. they made nirvana wright catchy songs so they could be on the radio... SERIOUSLY look it up. the original version of heart shaped box was supposed to be way different but the record company said it wasnt radio material and made him change it... its just like today with hip hop being shoved down your throat... back then it was grunge... its not hard to be famous when people sculpt you into a radio god.

  • @laynestaley1990 let me assure you, it's VERY hard both to become famous, and to stay there...neither nirvana or silverchair were famous for no reason. Yes they were exploited as much as any talent is, but that doesn't reduce their talent - rather it emphasizes the fact. Music producers don't bother trying to exploit talentless musicians...

  • @laynestaley1990 Not even close to greatest band of all time. Where did you get that from?

  • amazig talented

  • I remember the summer before starting high school watching the original airing of this on MTV. Ah... memories!

  • 0:13 Bieber DYING?!?!?

  • @szelbiry lol sounds like that now that i think of it xD except there is a reason for him to die

  • @szelbiry aha

  • @szelbiry hahahahahahaha xD

  • 8 people are retarded!!!!!

  • THEY ARE GENIUSES

  • In 1995, I was 5 years old.. so I was a babe in this time. I stared to listen them in 1999 :)

  • i was touring europe and the us in the 90s ,i missed out on silver chair completely . i heard them but never appriciated them . . i bought my first silverchair CD 6 MONTHS AGO . fuck i am a dinosauor

  • OH MY!! silverchair performing in public, thats awesome..that made me wish i was there................but wait,if i was there then im only 3 years old!! lol

  • 95'......Best year ever? Yup

  • @BrainGuy45 yup, i gotta agree with you

  • nice song!!!rocks!!

  • shit bens hair is long ! \\m//

  • when the vma's was worth watching

  • @dave123gross ha You got that right. hmm...let's see, this or Katy Perry?

  • @dave123gross yea old mtv was great

  • I remember watching this with my big sister who at the time was like 16 and i was like 8... i liked it but was ignorant at what i was watching haha thought it was normal for an 8 year old to like that until i went to school and started talking about it and no one knew what the heck i was talking about haha .... still love silverchair and 90's music!

  • Wow! Memories! I remember watching this at the tender age of 14. I was so excited to see them. I got the VCR ready to record this entire performance. When it came time to return to school I felt like I just got back from the most rocking night of my life.

  • nice song.

  • Now I see why Kurt Cobain hated what Nirvana had become.

"This is silverchair and this is how they're spending their summer vacation.."

I'm sure the last thing a band wants to do on a vacation is perform.

  • @KurdtKobain09 they were kids touring US, its a dream come true for any budding musician. im sure they had a blast

  • if the band were a little older; and instead of it being 1995, it was more like 1991, Silverchair would have been known as a Grunge band instead of a Post-Grunge band... it just comes to show that labels are just used to confine people into liking what the industry thinks we want... you know, just as long as they make a fast buck in the process

  • This is the year that Courtney Love showed up drugged out of her mind and climbed up there to talk to Kurt Loder while he was interviewing Madonna. Good year for the VMA's.

  • @StoneRacingCamaro and throwed a shoe at them before climbing up...

  • ben's drumming is awesome here

  • damn..i was born in the wrong year. too bad

  • @MrFnPink, I completely agree. Every music link you click on there is some loser bitching about Justin Bieber. Don't listen to him if you don't like him. Nobody cares if you do or you don't. The fact is, talented or not, the kid is living a pretty sweet life. Be happy for him and concentrate on what makes you happy. Or continue on with your miserable existence, worrying about what other people are doing with their lives. It's awesomely pathetic.

  • Ok why all the hate on justin beiber he has talent in his own right and who are we to judge anyone who listens to his music or any pop music artist we all are people and we like what we like and we dislike what we dislike look at the boy bands such as nsync & bsb & nkotb(ok they were more 80's) but its all music so close your narrow mind and open up to the fact that THE 90'S ARE OVER AND ME PERSONALLY I HATED NIRVANA but I don't bring them up on every video silverchair is a great band still are

  • preach on brother(livredesd) its hard to believe its been that long. I was a junior in high school. ROCK ON! bring some of that grunge back

  • I remember the MTV Music Awards from the 90's! They used to play music right?

  • real music is comming my friends be patient its all about cycles .....dont worry bieber has no heart jus tlike all of hollywood and the music industry ,,,,,,,,

  • i was 14 when Silverchair produced Frogstomp.....now as an adult watching their clips i am even more blown away by the incredible talent of the lot of them, and Daniels voice is just incredible! Time to intoduce my kids to 90s Grunge!

  • @76waylon lol about time some adult got the balls to show there kids reall music

i wish my parents showed me silverchair earlier

  • @razor197 Cheers dude. We have four kids under ten and they have the most eclectic taste in music. From Frank Sinatra, to Guns N Roses, to Johnny Cash to Eminem...they love everything and they can pick any song from any band and tell you who is singing and who is playing what... they will do okay my kids lol :)

  • @76waylon indeed!

  • @76waylon seriously, where the hell are they now? The Aussie DMZ?

  • @76waylon Funny, you were about the same age as they were at that time, maybe just 1 year difference

  • @trekkq That's probably because you don't like much of anything then.

  • mi grupo favorito de todos los tiempos....incluso ahora. un genio para hacer todo lo que hizo con tan poca edad

  • Lastima que Silverchair se vendio , ogala uvieran seguido haci pero ya no :/ . igual exelente tema

  • EPIC!!!!!!!

  • Killer Beat To This,

    Pure Massacre, Pure Massacre,

    This is inspiration...

  • I think at the end he screams, "God don't love me!!!"

    Awesome performance.

  • THIS IS NOT how they spend their "summer vacation". In Australia it would be winter lol.

  • @fukyoo90 this show actually took place in september, which is fall for us. im pretty sure australia would be in their warmer months. they were probably on spring break or something.

  • @EvanTheKillerWolf They should be in school.. but they're not because they are rockstars lol.

  • @fukyoo90 and australia doesnt have a summer vacation we just have 2 weeks off after every term

  • in 1995 daniel johns have 15 years old?

  • @MarcGTA4 yeah, 15 years old..n tourin' the states

  • "GRUNGE IS DEAD" No Music is DEAD!

  • FUCK tehy were 16 years old and put out at such young age amizin epic true music rock n roll record, what the fuck with music toDAY!!!????

  • @reflectwhatyouare689 Yeah, I remember when they came out, I was like 14 or 15 and they are my age. I couldn't believe it back in 1995, and still can't believe how good these guys were at such a young age.

  • Che voce a 15 anni..

  • why grunge disappeared... cmon

  • @devildog70 Oh really? Haha, in my opinion, I like those hair! I like men with long hair where they don't comb their hair and then do headbangers!

  • @devildog70 oh come on... chicks dig long hair man. especially in the 90s where it was a grunge thing. but i like daniels. chris and bens hair was a bit gross.... i had long hair but never past the shoulders.

  • grande banda, belos tempos, som excelente:))

Tenho saudades destes anos e destas músicas...tudo fazia sentido e tudo era sentido...são os rejeitados, são a escumalha...mas são os que dizem a verdade...

    Grunge...

  • Amazing Drumming!!

  • i remember when the music was gritty and the hair was long.

  • STOP TALKING ABOUT JUSTIN BIEBER.

  • i was 3 at the time of this video. i can't imagine good music actually being played on MTV

  • @ForeverLivesNirvana True, true, same here.

  • @ForeverLivesNirvana oh no my friend. In another life that exists no more MTV was the SHIT. I feel sorry for the children and teens of today that are deprived of everything that molded my character and broadened MY horizons. Music. television, live events and as a matter of fact life in general has become something unrecognizable to those that lived there youth in the 80's and 90's. As my parents say when referring to the 60's and 70's "Shit was just different back then...and better"

  • such a powerfull voice. so young. better singer than kurt

  • @DiabloDave363 thats true

  • @DiabloDave363 Yup Kurt was the best Songwriter and musician but he didnt have the greatest voice

  • @iangotango13 there is no point of comparing..Its undeniable NIRVANA-Kurt has Big influence on Silverchair. Just listen to the album IN UTERO. if it's not because of Kurt's Voice Nirvana would not have sold million of copies. 90s will not be complete without NIRVANA.

  • @iangotango13 i reckon becuse his voice was so uniqe it was great but he had no training so he may not be as good as eddie vedder or what not

  • @afuckhead1 JAJAJA Kurts voice was so unique even when he croaked it sounded awesome!!!!

  • @DiabloDave363 yeah thats true, but as far as songwriting.....no comparison. lol. although i love frogstomp.

  • @DiabloDave363 soooo agree. and i love nirvana too... in my top 5 bands. but god is kurt over rated

  • BLUE MASTERCARD, BLUE MASTERCAAAAAAARD

  • @skrilla420 I was told someone actually thought he was singing, "blue mastercard," in the chorus. Missed opportunity by the band/Mastercard, imo.

  • @runnersdialzero33 lol nice.

  • what does he scream at the end???

  • @coolkazza888 Good question... It almost sounds like "god don't love me. no..." Just a guess though...

  • This song belong Grunge era.

  • old song is good. but now it's...

  • ahhh the good ole days when mtv actually played music instead of the ignorant shit they spew out now!

  • i hope that bands like these return and i will be waitin for the new generation

and waitin for the real music ...............

  • @livredesd glad I'm seeing some of a new alternative movement going out. Like 10 people that I know from my country know who is daniel johns. But thats a progression goddamn!

  • Comment removed

  • The good ol' days.

  • isso sim era mtv.....hj em dia é uma viadagem da porra!!!! ooo saudade dos anos 90!

  • Well, Kurt and Seattle grunge bands give a huge 15 years for alternative rock to be a part of mainstream music.

  • drummer is insane...

  • @fizzlemcdrizzle

    I Knowww!!

  • Before they went incredibly shit

  • This silverchair will be forever missed. :)

  • 16 year old boy rockin the shit out of the VMA,

that is just sick... I hope I was him at that age... my summer would be heck ah shit! lol

  • sounds like "feel magical" instead of "pure massacre" haha ;) i love silverchair !!

  • woaooo i cant believe that the real music is gone and now the music is shitt!!!

with lady gaga, jonas gaybrothers gaybiebber we are fucked

    i want the 90's back

  • @livredesd

In the 90s me and my friends thought that music was fucking dead because of shitty grunge trying to make a name off of punk and metal. Grunge is as fake as God and Santa Clause.

  • @CHVNX you are wrong man but i respect that comment

  • @livredesd

Im not wrong. Grunge wanted to be punk aesthetically, but failed. Grunge is mainstream, corporate crap made for the anti-corporate mall rat. It fails from the start.

  • @livredesd THE DEAD WEATHER are cool. Check 'em out live!

  • @livredesd

    so true

  • @livredesd

You've missed Daniel Paul Johns and his present crap.

  • @livredesd i completely agree, there is a lot of awful music nowadays!

  • @livredesd i could'nt have said it better myself lol the generation we live in now is a downfall of shit

  • @VeroNevermind1990 yeah so true we need to kill justin bieber and a lot of artist to save the real music

  • @livredesd this so true. todays music can lick me sweaty sack

  • @livredesd Amen brother its a sad sickening feeling isn't it!!...i wish ihad a time machine.!

  • Comment removed

  • @livredesd LMAO...u said 'we are fucked'....it's so true...good music is gone forever man.

  • @livredesd Silverchair wouldn't go out of their way to make anything pleasant for a biggot like you punk.

  • @livredesd Avenged sevenfold, Sum 41, The used. Good music isn't dead yet.

  • @MrPudster1 all awful examples.

  • @dids42 cock sucking gypsy

  • @MrPudster1

    wow.

  • Ben's a pretty kick-ass drummer, I like how he's using the heel-toe technique for the bass. I'm gonna try doing that now, it seems so cool to use.

  • drummer hits the drums real shit! check how he do the double pedalling...

  • bass is 2 loud but other tha that, gr8 performance

  • This is what a 16 year old boy should be like, not like Justin Bieber. These 16 year old boys write and compose their own music and play the musical instruments. This is the real talent.

  • @79itsjustme yeah2!datz true men..justine bieber is a gay..she sucks...
