  • how did you get the constant turbo whistle sound? mine only does it with the exhaust brake on in cold weather?

  • @amirboutorabi it was with the exhaust brake on , it was cold that day.. but mine used to stay on for some time before it would shut down..

  • damn i wana see a 6.7 push over 750 hp. try to do it! u shuld get titanium valve springs and a big cam to spool those new twin turbos!.industrail injection, fass pumps and lift pump.arp headstuds and a built trans shuld do it. maybe even aftermarket elec cooling fans

    y not built the 68rfe with a torque converter and strong clutch packs. or try the h&s tuner.

  • u must have rode hard. nrippe dthe torque converter, and the clutch packs maybe. but its mainly the torque converter... damn, thats the 1st time ive heard that

    the trans is usually fine on the 6.7 with smarty or the h&s

  • Believe it or not It happened when I went to the ranch and there was wet roads and there was a lil slip and sliding nothing remotely agressive, then the truck felt like the clutch engaged and whoalah tranny gone.. burnt to go forward but reverse was excellent, I had to reverse from inside the ranch all the way to the interstate.. so that they can tow my truck.. sad stuff

  • UPDATE:: Well my transmission is fried, Brown Dodge in Devine, TX Voided my warranty completely.. Truck will be on the way to Lovefab to get a set of twin turbos, Dual Cp3's, F1 150hp nozzles, Goerend/Suncoast Transmission, Fass Pump, ARP 625 head studs, Fire Ring, and a couple of more items, this combination should be good for 750hp easy.. now the bad part.. about a month turnaround time.. :(

  • what is dpf delete?

  • @MetalCranium3 diesel particulate filter, it controlls the emissions on the truck that makes it reduce smoke

  • It's a diesel particulate filter delete. The dpf is desinged to cut down on the amount of smoke that diesels put off. So with a dpf delete you are able to put off more smoke aka "black smoke"

  • @DODGEDIESELNUT actually it's main purpose is to cut down on nox emissions, the secondary purpose is soot trapping.

  • The Edge Juice with attitude deletes trouble codes before starting.. has worked fine..

  • is this as loud as itl get. 5 in tbe, no muffler, no cats, no sensors, egr and dpf out? and chipped. try that h &s tho. and how about the silencer ring out of the turbo...?

  • I have not removed the silencer ring as it has a decent whistle as it is.. plus on the new 6.7's it a major pain in the rear cause it is held on by bevels and you have to actually break the ring out.. not like the ol 5.9's where it was just a retainer.. I will more than likely get all this and done with by late Jan, to mid Feb, with the twins, programmer, tranny, etc.. I am going to have to pocket out about 14k on this setup.. not cheap but i think it will worth every red cent.

  • but the trans, features and extra stuff is way better. and a stock 5.9 is slow compared to a 6.7. 6.7 feels so much stronger

  • Another thing that has me on hold is that I just purchased a 87 T Type that does 9's on the 1320 so I may just toy around with the buick instead of my truck.. how bout them 6cyls... lol

  • yea. with time, the new diesels will have way more aftermarket parts. who knows, they may even smog older diesels

  • I really think it is, but the emission when they are on makes it seem way weak, the advantage of a 5.9 as opposed to a 6.7 is that there is just about everything in the market for power just money would be the limit, and the 6.7l its been two years and the fear of the government getting involved has many manufactures pumping their brakes to mass produce similar products for the 6.7l. I really like my truck way more than my 06' 5.9 without question I think the 6.7 is way better.

  • get the h&s. no waits for codes on starts. just start and go. they have a 225 hp tune. all fine tunes and custom

  • I am actually waiting to get the cash to get twin turbos and a bullet proof tranny and get the H&S programmer at that time. I have heard lots of great things abt that programmer but at that point the tranny can't hang with the power. This truck has some power but until they come up with a break proof transmission they are years behind the 5.9l

  • No Cats, Downpipe all the way to the 6" tip is 5".

  • No problems and maybe is due to the edge juice clearing any trouble codes, HS performance makes a nice downloader that shuts off the trouble codes no waiting to start or anything just get it fire her up and off you go, this maybe the Edges replacement. Overall I don't think u will regret either one of them.

  • Its an extension or replacement of the section where the Diesel Particulate Filter resides, and removes it therefore called a DPF delete kit.

  • the exhaust brake works well, it sometimes take a few seconds to kick in after you release the go pedal other than that it has done the job everytime.. no complaints

  • no offense to you guys that like cummins, in some cases i think they sound just like ricers

  • cummins are pretty nice but a duramax blows the competition away IMO

  • dmax's are fast.. but i still have yet to chase one.. they always fall behind.. notice all the iron on my truck.. love their faces though and there is always an excuse right after.. go figure

    my buddies dmax and it has a rebuilt tranny and compund turbo and ppe tuner

    its crazyyy fast

  • Screw emissions. Global warming is crap. Besides, if you get better fuel economy, you burn less fuel. Amen brother.

    Do you ever get a CEL without the DFP?

  • The Edge programmer deletes CEL's upon startup so no trouble codes.. :)

  • Oh well i got a 6 speed but yeah they have really improved the automatics....dont you get worse fuel mileage with all that emissions junk on them

  • yes you do and that's why they are MIA. :) no emission junk on mine and i do get.. very attractive fuel economy, about 20-22mpg on hwy and about 15mpg average in town when i lay off the go pedal.

  • I have a 2008 Dodge 1ton the same as your truck and i was woundering where you got your DPF delete kit and how you made the turbo whistle.

  • H&S Performance with Casey you should give him a ring. Turbo whistle, well besides the fact that it is a 5" TBE whenever it is cold turn on the truck and exhaust brake on and there you go :)

  • How do you like the new 6.7 because everybody i have talked to said they have had problems with them.

  • I love the 6.7 even the new tranny cause it really holds the power. I had an 06' 5.9 auto and went through 3 tranny's in under a year with just the bully dog triple dog downloader. with this one i have the edge juice w/attitude, mp8, snow performance stage III, and haven't had the transmission hiccup at all. I love it..

  • Captain, I was more than certain that I had replied to your comment.. but glad to be proven wrong, some company is working on a cheetah turbo, the only thing is that the CEL will be on other than that it is in testing right now. Nobody at least to my knowledge has came up with a fooler just yet. Sorry for the delay.

  • I am thinking about getting the PMT and stacking it with all the mods already on there.. or maybe wait on getting me a set of Twin compound turbos..

  • Yeah, I got the plates from Casey at H&S Performance and they were a perfect fit.. but then again i have all the hoses from the Snow Performance Stage III kit.
