@THELITTLERIVERNERD This was made in an old version of Blender - so it was created with ambient/emit settings with haphazard use of coloration with respect to normals. The newer version of Blender (2.5+) can drastically improve on this just with the indirect lighting setting. Unfortunately, while this video's fluid is described as glowing, it wouldn't actually illuminate anything.
@JuniorProducer1996 Typically in the higher numbers, I have to set Blender to a lower priority if I expect to use my computer for anything else, if I'm using a single core machine. You might try using the subdivision function within the fluid settings (not the subsurface modifier), instead of using a high number. Won't look as good as a high number, but will likely work better.
An invisible cylinder, yes. The test here was to see if water, when spun, would exhibit centripetal motion and get pressed against the cylinder. Apparently it does follow this law of physics.
did you start rendering in 2004?

@TheTaben To be honest, I can't tell you an exact date - but I could estimate that I started around 1999.

@cupidlsu
that could work, i normally just use a plane of standard cube as an emitter

does the spiral have a lattice surrounding it?

5 Stars tho :)
