I actually have worked with a couple of creationists in my scientific field. They've both been 'born agains'. It's always astounded me that they seem to have such a disconnect between their professional and religious lives. Creationist geologist? How can you look at kilometers of a sedimentary sequence, understand the time scale for the deposition of each layer, then ignore the simple math to determine the sequence timescale? I'm sure God wouldn't spread such misinformation.

I like this, but possibly creationists are not the major impediment to facing up to today's main issues. Even if they are irresponsible and anti-social. For example, the Kyoto protocol wasn't vetoed by the USA because of creationists, and creationists did not push the (rather bare-faced lie of) WMD in Iraq. Some of our major problems are due to the short-sighted self-interest of political and corporate bodies, who don't even see the creationists as worth the effort to get on board their wagon.

In the last few minutes of the video, the overwhelming sense of despair portrayed by the author of the video, describing the shear hypocrisy of religious actions, and the theft of the future by their selfish and counter-progressive nature nearly made me shed a few tears. The sense of loss I felt at even the possibility of success of the terrible intentions of the non-scientific modern era, the loss of all that has been worked so hard for, was nearly too much to bear.
