ha, mustangs are awesome. sure, theyre much better quality now than they were in the 60s nad 70s, but 950 bucks. i mean shit fender. my uncle remembers when he could pick these mufuckers up at pawnshops in the 80s for like 100 bucks. this is bullshit. i know kurt used em, but jesus
My first guitar was a Mustang, bought it at a pawn shop in LA. It was brown with a Bigsby Trem on it. That was so long ago...I didn't know crap about guitars then. It's floating around Europe somewhere now but if anyone knows about a Bigsby on a Fender I'd like to hear! I figure it was heavy modified by some moron....it never stayed in tune.
@YouWantMeYouCantPay new ones betweeen 900USD-1100USD some even more (the production series from the 60s) albeit second hand.. i wish they were still cheap...
I play Fender Aerodyne Strat , luv it, but this Mustang sound is really cool. Luv the pickup setup too! Beauty to look at. Simplicity at its best ! :) Gotta get one someday.
@RYANN36 i have a 65 reissue mustang daphne blue its the nicest guitar ive had its got the most comfortable neck and it sounds real nice unpluged just it going out of tune a lot is disappointing but that's easily fixed with adjusting the springs the pickups are the wort ive had on any guitar but nothing like a pickup change i never bort it for the pickups anyway i have a jb in another guitar witch i will put in
what does the phase switches do? when i played a mustang at one of the music stores near my home, when i push the switches close and far away from eachother, i just get a wiry, trebly sound.
@PAULisDEADMANnumber9 that's exactly what the out-of-phase does, makes the tone thinner and more nasal. Some people like that tone for funk rhythm playing.
I'm not overly keen on Classic Series Fenders, they seem a bit cheap looking to me. I used to have a 1978 Fender Mustang but I sold it. I wish I still had it, it was really cool. :(
kurt cobain played one - i could imagine how he got that mustang sound

It isn't a student guitar, it's a vintage reproduction guitar.
It was a student guitar in 1965, when it was introduced.

that's probably why these guitars are setup shit being a student model for 600 pound you'd think they'd sort that out
wipers86 1 year ago
@wipers86 those guitars aren't as bad as you think m8, they are close to some american fender models, and there pretty fun to play...

Sounds so good in this video. But 1:07 It's a vibrato, Not tremolo! I know Fender called it a Tremolo but they got the terms mixed up!

2k? Maybe, if it's PRISTINE, but I wouldn't pay more than $1200 for one if it wasn't, like, cryo frozen since 1979, or some shit.
