Fantastic voice! She is one of the better Salomes, but i do prefer rysanek, borkh and nilsson. Nilssons power and brilliant clarity is superhuman in this role!!
It isn't just the acting, Herodias' and everyone else's. The set and costumes are preposterous, and the whole amateurish production attains seldom reached heights of silliness and bad taste. But my God, what a voice, what a singer, what an incredible artist.

I always thought that Caballe was, vocally, one of the best Salomes ever. Having admired her singing of the role for years, it's great to see that she was equally stupendous on stage - thrilling and totally believable. Thank you for posting this.
I feel like she's channeling Ljuba Welitsch here, she sounds great.

Wonderful!!! not only her singing, their eyes, their performance. Caballe the best Salome.
Btw no further comments by callasians on this post, as they say they want so much to Caballe :)
