  • he convert to islam after hearing azan in space . think about it u christians , athesits ....thats power of Allah Subhanautallah.

  • @monsta123x Truth fails to come forth from Muslim mouths. Lies are the normal. NEIL is NOT a Muslim but then again you people are so screwed by your Imams stories you even believe that it was a person that 'Looked like Jesus' that died on the cross. In anyones greatest insanity even that outright LIE rewrites the Roman history books but you muslims know better than everyone else. What a load of complete and utter BS you Muslims spew out of your mouths

  • @monsta123x hahahahaha retard

  • @monsta123x

    Allah isn't real...just f.y.i.

  • @monsta123x

dont be a stupid, you as a muslim should make an effort to verify the fact first.

  • Who is the ass who is shaking Neil's hand with his hands in his pocket?

  • Air conditioners in Hell...

    That'll be the day:)

  • Awesome.

  • this is faked..american gvrment was lie to us..no one could reach moon..

  • Must be such a humble experience to talk to neil. He has seen the world different from everyone else for 42 years now.

  • Humble Man ....walking the earth in humbleness is loved by God....Humility is a virtue

  • He is a great American. I respect the Astronauts so much. Such a dangerous proposition...they stepped up and made it happen. All the folks at NASA. And as for Neil..what a humble guy. He is a GREAT American and Human being.

  • THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT MAN, PURDUE UNIVERSITY LAFAYETTE AND CALUMET ARE THE BEST ENGINEERING SCHOOL IN THE NATION.

  • BOILER UP!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Watch a real Hero, this later word has been misused -i think- to tag people who die in wars, instead of they real tag which is Victims.

But this man is a real one, a true American Hero, a Humanity Hero.

  • It's OK to put us in a three-way

    It's not gay when it's in a three-way

With a honey in the middle there's some leeway

The area's grey in a one, two, three-way

  • That's the University I'm going to in 4 years or so....The Man who walked on the moon!@

  • @islandbuoy4 : already there, Brother! ~PEACE~ .... and thanx for being on the SMART side. :~)

  • @JohnyReb311

What happened , did you see Capricorn One and decided the moon landings were faked?

  • neil armstrong i wish i could meet him in person

  • @electromagnetshit Why would you want to meet him? He probably wouldn't want to meet you, he kind of hides, for the most part, from the public.

  • As A Purdue grad. Thank you sir.

  • first man on the moon O_O

  • We have habit to taunt on every good thing and person. Neil Armstrong wa man of words.

  • Yes Mr Armstrong deserve to be called hero Neil for sure.

  • I really like Neil's way of inspiring old and new alike with his simple description of what engineering is and what is possible. I graduated from Brunel back in 2001 but I feel transported back to my graduation ceremony with this speech he made! Full of ideas and aspirations. Time I got back to living that dream. Thanks Neil x

  • .. "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind" ...

Thanks for the video, I had never heard more than those famous words of him.

  • I go to Purdue :)

  • What an occasion! The first and last man to walk on the moon standing side by side on the stage. Apollo was such a mind-blowing, exhilarating and scary programme, carried out by extraordinarily young but courageous and inspired people, most behind the scenes. It's incredible to watch Neil and find him such a modest guy, with humility in abundance...what a great example of humankind he is.What a great role model he should be for many a jumped-up celebrity! Well done NASA, from a grateful Brit.

  • Thank you a million times over for this video. I was 12 when Neil walked on the moon , and Neil was my ultimate hero. More than any sports figure, any president, anyone but God. He is the only person I would want to meet, and I hope and pray to do so before I die. Neil Armstrong to me, is the ultimate hero. . I am forever a Hawkeye fan from Iowa, but for Neil Armstrong, I have to say that Purdue University is number one, when his name is mentioned. Thank ytou!

  • thanks for uploading man and holding camera

  • Awesome :)

  • Thank you for sharing this :)

  • So Humble, so Great!

  • Thank you very much, for the person who record that video and share on youtube! :)

  • I think the worst feeling about astronauts of the Apollo mission is to see how we don't care about our planet mixed with the fact that peoples and politics didn't continue the lunar missions. On a point of view, we put a step back in our past.

  • There can only one first man on the moon, the first human alien to touch another world, never again can there be another Neil Armstrong.

  • Amstrong es mi Heroe. Tenía 11 años cuando emocionado seguí desde Santiago de Chile la llegada del hombre a la luna.

gloria a los tres heroes americanos que nos enseñaron a volar y mirar alto, al cielo, a la luna.

  • on this 40th anniversary of humankinds venture into planet exploration its nice to see one the most enigmatic and mysterious men of space being funny and humble. As a boy, if someone said to him one day you'll walk on the moon he likely would have laughed, and yet he did and made history.

  • Not many people deserve the title hero we give it too people who dont deserve it like footballers and tv stars, but neil armstrong is one person who does deserve it, your our Hero neil.

  • @1965CAPTKIRK...........

Love that you brought this up.

"Hero" is so overused these days but in Armstrong's case it's not quite adequate.

Footballers and TV stars are straight up fags in my book.

  • Neil Armstrong is a fraud, and a willing participant in promoting this terrible hoax and crime on the trusting American people. He has been put into the position of having to spend the rest of his life lying about what happened, and I know he doesn't like this at all, but he knows there would be serious consequences should he speak out. James Irwin was about to spill the beans, and he had a mysterious heart attack a few days before he was to meet with a scientist trying to expose the hoax.

  • @iconoclast911 : Here, here! AGREED!

  • Mr Neil Armstrong is a proud a heroe of all humankind

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments about the question of truth, the promotion of science and engineering.

  • I'd read he has a good sense of humour. Witty and inspiring man.

"Some see the glass as half empty some as half full. The engineer sees the glass as twice as big as it needs to be."

  • Those guys standing there, Neil Armstrong and Gene Cernan, inspired a generation of teenagers to become engineers. They were of my parents generation and achieved the moonlanding. My generation created the internet and mobile phone technology. What will the next generation give us?

  • One brave man...He was within seconds of crashing the lander I believe.

  • NEIL ARMSTRONG KICKS ASS!!!

  • Fakers need to kiss Neils ASS....lol He had already flew to the edge of space in the X planes before he even joined Gemini or Apollo teams....He was both a fighter jock....balls to the wall pilot. Nerdy, Geeky? Pehaps that too...but they got the job done. And in a time when SLIDE RULES were the norm. Amazing men.

  • Boiler UP!!!

  • there are not sending people to moon any more cause robotics do all the job now days..thats why the russians spent all the money on space robotics tech/research..now there is colaboration between countries and tech's are shared and new heights are reached.....

  • also it costs alot the americans mostly did it so they could rub it in the russians face there proberly wont be people on the moon agen until they try making a lunar base.

  • because theres nothing else to explore on the moon .

  • Great man from a great country.

  • Mr. Armstrong is a hero, a humble honourable hero. Why don't you morons read his biography. The effort he and all astronauts put into their careers and the Space Projects is astounding. Do you think they sat around Starbucks (or the equivalent in the 60's) wishing to go to the moon. No, they got off their assess and did....you idiots with your "faked" etc. comments are idiots....not even worthy of washing Mr. Armstrongs shorts!

  • My greatest American hero. Thank you Mr Armstrong.

  • I think it so sad that people say the moon landings were faked. To do so belittles the advancements in science and technology. Why must everything be a conspiracy nowadays? JFK assassination, 9/11 - let me tell you something - governments are incapable of pulling off giant hoaxes that people spew on about. If we listened to all the backwards thinkers we would still assume the world to be flat, the sun to circle the earth, and other silly ideas that most scholars though were dismissed long ago

  • the cold war was on and deception is the greatest weapon of war. In world war2 germany thought the allies would land in calais and even after the normandy invasion germany was still looking for a calais landing.Neil Armstrong is a legend and a brave man whether he was on the moon or not.

  • The United States went to the Moon to beat the Soviets. Google "Space Race". Also each lunar flight cost about $3.5 billion 2008 USD. Public support was gone after the 1969 landing and with it political support and then the cash. Also, NASA can do alot more science with a robot/rover mission ie 'Spirit' and 'Opportunity' rovers on Mars that have lasted 17 times longer than originally planned. Some good books on the Apollo era / Moon included 'Moondust', 'Last man on the Moon', 'Rocketman'

  • Also read "Two sides of the Moon" by Dave Scott and Alexei Leonov. It is a book about the Space Race from both the USA and USSR perspective. A very good read

  • One quick thing to think about: If the United States 'faked' the Moon missions, why did they do it 9 times? (Apollo:8,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17)

It is a sad thing that only 9 of the 12 Moonwalkers are still alive. Hopefully, some will still be around when Orion lands on the Moon ~2020

  • @jediackbar99 Mr Armstrong is already 80! But I really hope he'll be around when we go back to the moon.

You know what would be a real honor? To bury Mr Armstrong on the moon! That would be so symbolic and sentimental.

  • @jediackbar99 watch the clips about the moon missions and u will see strange activities on the moon that indicate it might be have aliens on it : ") the voice of this man neil is there saying >>>what is this ...have u seen that and then he talks that somthing is moving around and they never published this to us

  • @jediackbar99

hey if the MOON is 250,000 miles away, then let me ask you the obvious.

The story goes they went to the MOON 9 times between 1969-72, but why have we not been past the Van Allen belts since 1972?

i.e. why have we been grounded to a distance of only about 500 miles about the surface of the earth?

why did man appear to no longer want to go beyond the Van Allen belts?

BTW the Van Allen belts were not even Dr. Van Allen's idea.

Van Allen was just another YES man, the spokesperson

  • the movie ran through me, the glamour subdue me,m the tabloid untie me, im empty please fill me, mr anchor assure me that baghdad is burning your voice it is so soothing that cunnign mantra of killing, i need you my witness to dress this up so bloodless, to numb me, and purge me now of thoughts of blaming you...

  • @bluemarkus wow.nice. great poem. peace and blessings. the news anchors voice to the untrained ears sounds so soothing and genuine...close your eyes and it calms you as if you are curled up inside the crescent moon, perched up high in the serene quiete sky.

  • @jediackbar99 There is more proof that Neil Armstrong spoke to Optimus Prime then there is proof of him going to the moon.

  • honestly, what a guy... makes me proud to be an aero engineer...

  • Makes me wish I had gone to Purdue to be an engineer. This guy is an American legend. I don't know how you guys can do all that math though. I was a history major, so I'll write about all the good work you do haha.

  • lol. actualy if i wasnt studying engineering i would have been a historian!

this guy is more than an American legend: through his modesty and his intelligence he is a hero of mankind (i am a Brit so i dont say this stuff lightly!)

  • Your all my hero..

With all the love from Norway

  • i agree with rockchurchmusic

    havent thinked that way

  • but then why is there so skepticism?

  • sorry dude, we were there! Im a McDonald Observatory scientist, if you dont believe come on out to the davis mountains in Texas and we will absolutly prove it to you. No one wants to come out and ask us if the landing was real!?!?

  • Well I can't get out to Texas but I would be interested in what you have... seriously

If you are for real drop me a note I have a friend in Texas ;)

But please don't tell me your telescope can see the landers ;) Even Palomar and Hubble can't do that

  • Maybe he just doesn't care for public speaking.

  • definitely skipped French to go see this...lol

  • i would like to hear armstrong speaking about his steps on the moon.how he felt, what he sow,how it was and so on.

just like a kid would speak about a visit to desert.

why is their a lack of such interviews and statements of him done with him at home while he sits confortably on a couch ??!!

  • kid at my schools is his nephew

  • He used to be the man on the moon! I guess he became a down to Earth man. :)

  • Does anyone know if Neil still goes around giving speeches/talks on a regular schedule or anything like that? I'd love to meet the man in person.

I googled for such a thing but didn't find anything

  • Not sure. I know there are lots of organisations that want him to speak so the wait list is really long.

  • Either Neil or buzz would be great really.

  • Its very, very rare. He's been quite reclusive since the moon-walking. Pretty much why you barely ever see him in televised interviews.. almost selfish really but the guys still a legend, and a terrific public speaker as he demonstrates here.

  • that bastard, keeping all those moon memories for himself! I'm kidding, obviously!

  • Google Video has a clip of an interview recorded by 60 Minutes in 2005.

  • Yay Neil!

  • Neil Armstrong is the greatest man living. Without him, we would know nothing about the moon and the myths at NASA.

  • that's a liitle strong, but yeah, he is one competant pilot and a capable astronaut - there are many others

  • Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrina, and Michael Collins, are a very great man! in the 1969 the space mission and the lunar landing are a suicide, but this mans have try! great! a pice of mondial history...

  • Ok, this is in response to all the people out there that believe the Apollo missions were faked. Why then did we fake 9 missions to the Moon? And how were we able to fool the Soviet Union and keep thousands of workers quiet for 40+ years?

Please just enjoy the video of Neil Armstrong speaking for what it is worth.

  • Your assumption is that there was an east/west dichotomy. I believe that the same people/forces that controlled the east also controlled the west therefore there was not going to be one side ratting out the others lies and deceptions. Also if you do believe in the east/west thing according to sibrel the us began shipping huge amounts of grain to the ussr after the apollo program.

  • This is a great speach and Neil Armstrong is a great inspiration to future engineers

  • He is a living treasure as the first ambassadore of planet Earth. That is really something, that should not be forgotten ever.

He is also the reason I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid, and why I still would like to be an astronaunt 40 years after I saw him live on TV make that great step.

  • Neil Armstrong is the same age as both my grandfathers.

  • I was on campus that day, and my glee club friends were there to see Neil speak! I'm so proud to be an alum of the same university as this guy! Thanks for posting this!

  • Thanks for posting this Jedi. Theres very little Video of Neil Speaking, and every bit is worth seeing. Great to see Neil and Gene together. First and last men on the moon. Legends, every one of them.

  • NEIL!!!!

  • as the first mayn to walk on the mauoon...tht chick sounds soo funny
