  • but on a serious note: please contact your local Peta humane office....

  • why do they keep beating that poor defensless bear??....leave teddy alone!!...leave him ALONE!!!

  • Man l miss Qulaaudes ..even 35 years later ..

  • drugs were better back then

  • <<<never taken acid but havin a flashback

  • shock rock

  • Why they hitting the bear?

  • Yikes!!!

  • those weren't hippies were they? were they doing, like, drugs?

  • I guess beats getting a day job, too

  • I do believe that that man is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or both. Like if you think so too.

  • @legallyawesome1 no, i think I am

  • Not live, lip-synced, but still entertaining.

  • If it was your bday Uncle Al let you ride the carousel and you got a marshmallow ice cream cone. My cousins went once and one of them lied and told Uncle Al it was her bday...she got the "perks" and the other cousin cried....lmao...Lemon Pipers attended Miami University of Ohio in Oxford, OH. Great school and good times. Thanks for posting!

  • Ths is a great song!

  • This was done in a Cincinnati TV station with a set from a local kiddie show "Uncle Al".

  • He Reno, Eat My Japapeino! My band does this song, but this presentation was as disgrace to the industry!

  • The video is definativly weird! XD

  • what a lazy ass bear. thats why he got bushwhacked by the guitarist.

  • How stupid is this group?

  • @TheDiego347 go back to mexico.

  • @TheDiego347 hmm.. I don't know. How stupid is it?

  • Anybody else creeped out by the rubber elephant @ 1:10??????

  • The teddy bear deserved better ...

  • @brwneyesaz Haha!! Well, this is where they got the idea then.

  • I love this song. But what the hells going on in that video? LOL! There's something refreshing seeing non-rehearsed, posed videos!

  • Those people was too high!!

  • Not bad!

  • That's what happens when you let them give you a hit. They were a psych band who could actually play. Check out "Through With You", also on YouTube.

  • Interview CONTENT: "I spend some of my time on carouselS...We go to school.... Miami University, we're college students..... they won't let us go back.... we were asked back somewhere.... Hello Charlotte!"

  • cool

  • Think those guys were doing something more than green that day,LOL

  • why are they beating on the stuffed bear ???

  • Very disturbing...Especially watching the guitarist swing that '56 Gold Top around.

  • huh, i always thought this was a beatles song when I was little.

  • How did paul laka get that gren tambourine?

    I want one!

  • who knew lip singing was used back then -_-

  • I think this has to be my fav song of all time.

  • RIP Paul Laka. He wrote this song.

  • @not2shy2say It's Paul Leka. He also wrote "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye".

  • I May be Old

But I got to see the best bands !!!!

  • I always have loved this song

  • This band is from Cincinnati and this was filmed at the local Channel 9 TV studios borrowing the props from the local Uncle Al kid's show. Uncle Al was not very happy with this.

  • OMG I love this song but they have comprimised themselves to sheer idiocity!!!!!!

  • 1:30 "OK guys seriously stop this thing, I'm not feeling well." 1:54 "OK let's give it a go again." That poor bear got quite the beating at the end.

  • G damm I miss an love the 60's........

  • I can't tell who is higher on that stage!

  • This video is too fing funny!

  • Esta cancion salia en una peli, pero no recuerdo cual ......

  • Me encantaaaaa

  • Loved that era in music but never was a fan of lip syncing.

  • @sjtom57 This is one of my rare exceptions where I think the lip syncing makes it better. That and the fact that they obviously hated the song and were making fun of their own publicity.

  • How dare you mension lady gaga in the same page as this. Let me rephrase that, how dare you mension lady gaga!

  • @0MindSwept0 Now now don't hate. :)

  • @demonhoopa "lady" gag-a? if u like that thing, than i h8 u 2!

  • lol..i remember this from recess..i never honestly thought it was a real song :)

  • This is actually pretty funny, it's good to see a band not take themselves seriously at all. I guess they figured they had a hit and were taking the money and running away with it. It's a lesson that many so called musicians could stand to learn today!

  • About as stupid as it comes.

You think they might be "stoned"?

(Yes, I bought the 45 record... so burn me!)

I like the song less as time goes by.

  • They are performing at Chucky Cheese's!

    \

  • Ahhh, the good ole days of unscripted live TV

  • WOW! - THIS IS REALLY REALLY SICK! HAS ANYONE CONSIDERED CALLING PETA ABOUT THIS? DISGUSTING ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. IT MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH TO WATCH THIS. I'LL NEVER BUY THEIR RECORDS AGAIN AS LONG AS I LIVE!

  • **Too funny** Teddy bear haters! LOL I love this song.

  • damn, call peta!!

teddy paid well to be beaten by stoned rockstars

  • This video is just .....so wrong. Love the song though

  • Funny video. Probably a very bad idea to have singer going around and around

on a carouse. VERY FUNNY music video. Damn good song.

  • this music should equal the peace and love of who made it :)

  • Wow.. This is just awesome.. I mean I laughed so hard at this they are so stoned and nobody cares.. If P-Diddy did this nowadays he would be scrutinized insulted hammered and badgered for not being a role model..

  • @Dalebert2005 Maybe, but... this song is mellow. What would P-Diddy be singing under the same influence? LOL

  • @ToniHunterOne, P-Diddy would be singing or rapping something more mellow YES you are correct on that lol.. but my point is, this just awesome, epic, surreal, OLD SCHOOL, etc.. I mean a freakin merry-go round man! Would P-Diddy ever EVER have brothas rapping, beating, acting cool on a freakin merry-go round?! LOL that's my point.. There are no words to describe how incredibly awesome and funny this is and NOBODY nowadays famous ESPECIALLY would ever get away with something like this..

  • It would be too flippin silly and outrageous for a modern audience.. For most ppl in the world today, things HAVE to MAKE SENSE and if there is no outright logical sense to something or no sexy women, beats, or some stimulating stimulous to keep ppl's attention, the tv or channel would be flipped and interest would be lost immediately.. Much like old shows like Hogan's Heroes or Gilligan's Island.. (COULD NOT WORK NOWADAYS).. Why? No relevance to modern times whatsoever! Would NOT work today lol

  • @Dalebert2005 interesting analysis, comment, and probably true. My how times have changed, yet there is always room in music for the unique and unusual.

  • @Dalebert2005 And doing it was such shiteatin' grins on their faces? LOL Yeah, it just wouldn't happen on a Top 40 show today would it. Makes me want to get out my Green Tamborine and Lite UP!!! Listen while a play -ay -ay... my green tamborine...... ;)

  • Who plays any instrument in this group? This takes lip synching to the worst end. Most of the instrumentation is carried by a string section, not in the group, a sitar, not apparently in the group, and a full drum set, also not in the group.

  • @CaptainQueue LOL. Of course this is lipsinc'd look at the set they gave these guys. How could they get the sound from their original recording on this set??? That's prolly why they didn't mind being 'lit. Hahahaha!

  • It's a good thing they were stoned or they might be a little embarrassed.

  • Guy was so damn high. You do that now and it's like "OH SHIT HE WAS HIGH!" and his face is everywhere for a week. But back then they are just playing it off realizing that shit like that happens.

  • How did Humpty from Play School get in this video?

  • The guitar player thinks he's a Beatle..

  • Looks like they're playing onstage at Chucky-E Cheese

  • @sunflowernoo

i worked at chuck e cheese, i was even in the suit, it was fun, seeing all the happy kids, but also very weird, its like when you dont wipe and you want the thrill of dingleberries

  • @charizardoystersauce Haha! Exactly why i avoided a job there in my youth having to wear an animal suit. I always thought if i had to go to the restroom i couldn't take the suit off fast enough!

  • @sunflowernoo - They didn't have Chucky-E Cheese during that time.

  • @sunflowernoo toy's r us

  • Pop-psych perfection!

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!

  • there all fucked

  • Am I the only one who thinks the one with the green tambourine is sorta stoned...?

  • @papoj1PVR no, just dizzy. It took them 3 hours to film this. hehe

  • Id venture to say the interview at the end is the best part! :)

  • Id venture to say the interview at the end is the best part! :)

  • Cute!! Pure 60s flavor!!

  • I remember this song from Recess :D

  • @MrModifythis ME TOO! Absolutely love it!

  • Wow, TV producers were on the really bad acid back then! What a horrible idea for a set to represent the feeling of this song! The band had a good attitude about it though. I would beat that teddy bear so bad that they would go straight to a commercial! lmao!

  • He kicked that bear's ass.

  • Comment removed

  • Friggin elephant creeps me the fuck out

  • Bad trip. Leave that bear alooooooone!!!!!

  • LSD and all the other thousands of types of drugs back in the first decade of rebellion.

  • This always makes me laugh. They're having fun with the corny set the producers set up for their appearance. The producers thought they were providing a really 'hip' set for this new band but they were way off the mark!

  • no i think it took more than weed to get them through this song!!!

  • this was my favorite song as a little girl. this and california dreamin. and incense and peppermints. damn actually i had a lot of favorite songs. lol

  • Marijuana.

  • @RockingHardV3 I think your the first person to know that's what he's talking about

  • @RockingHardV3 Marijuana ? Looks more like acid.

  • I want ..what there haveing!!!

  • drop a "dime" of what???????

  • Poor teddy bear. What did he ever do to The Lemon Pipers??

  • This is classic. I was a student at Miami when these guys were. They almost made it. Did they like doing these videos? Well, they sure seemed to take it seriously. Guitarist and keyboards went on to form a regional favorite, Beachwood Farm, after Lemon Pipers broke up. Back to the bars. (As Todd would say).

  • lmao they mustve been high look at the bear bein abused

  • ce nostimi sunt ,,,sunt exceptionali si au talent ,,,,,LA MULTI ANI TUTUROR SI ,,,MULTE SUCCESE IN2011

  • Does anyone know what show this is or the station? I'm curious to find out what happened after the show!

  • "Green Tambourine" was the primary hit by the 1960s Ohio-based rock group The Lemon Pipers ... at the end, fading into a drumroll ("Listen while I play play play play play play /my green ...

  • Drugs MAY have been involved. ;-)

  • @TacomaPaul

Dorky-assed video! I still like the song though.

  • @TacomaPaul haha, maybe just a little bit :)

  • I miss this old stuff, fun to watch back in the day,... still fun. Great tune.

  • Just...FUN and beautiful!

  • Those guys are stoned. especially the merry go round jockey!

  • Why are they beating that poor teddy bear?

  • I REMEMBER THIS FROM RECESS

  • the drummer was my next door neighbor growing up... and this is soo classic and perfect!!! they were having such a blast.. haha.

  • The robot in this video was used on the Uncle Al Show on WCPO TV in Cincinnati, OH. Such good memories... the Bob Shreve Show, Skipper Ryle, Ruddy & Teaser, Hattie the Witch, The Lemmon Pipers, Ivan and the Sabers, The Sacred Mushroom, concerts in Eden Park, The Ludlow Garage, Reflections. Can't believe how the years has flown by...

  • .. but i somehow understand their anger ..

.. after all, their only major hit was written by a professional songwriter ..

.. so that sort of thing seemed to have bred some resentment ..

.. rest assured .. at some point in life you too will be feeling resentful ..

  • I wish I had some pot.

  • that guy doesnt know what year hes in

  • Dude the singer is tripping BALLSACK

  • Bill Bartlett did put his 1954 Les Paul Goldtop to better use later in 1975 when he cut Black Betty with it. Meanwhile, let's have some fun promoting this stuff.

  • Everyone is higha s shit!

  • according to reliable sources (aka the band) their feelings of anger as seen here are real. they ain't acting, and if you look at the host at the very end of the clip, he looks VERY pissed. and threw the band out rather quickly, supposedly!

  • @jhkyle815 why were they angry?

  • Damn! What did that teddy bear do warrant such abuse???

  • @sugabayer i know! poor guy!

  • the geezer with 'the green tambourine' is obviously off his fucking nut. how splendid!

  • Great song; so how come I despise f*cking hippies. Ah well

  • The lead singer, as out of it as he is, is adorable with his facial expressions. And I think more modern music videos need someone beating up a teddy bear.

  • Well said crazy4potatoes. And why were they beating up that stuffed bear?

  • 1:25 ''MY HAT!"

  • Wow, how high were these guys?

  • pretty high dude- but this shit is cool.

  • Love the robot and elephant.

  • have you ever noticed the different attitudes squares and nerds have between boy and girl hippies ???

  • What in the hell was wrong with television production back then? Was everyone completely shitfaced all the time?

  • I love this video. What a sweet set up to play on. The Carousel rules.

  • @amishcar Kool Your right. Actually I think its a Sendup/copy of DaveDeedozybeakymichandtich film clip for "Hold Tight" which was done on the BBC Blue Peter show in 1966. Featured a carousel, swing etc circus theme. Tho I do love this song.

  • hippies are honestly some of the scariest self indulgent people who didnt work a day in their lives, had creepy cults, and did endless amounts of drugs. with that said they had good music.

  • The culture of world Hippy

  • easy on the bear, and if you want money go get a job.

  • Echoes of Magic Roundabout

  • These guys were so high when they recorded this.

  • Status Quo covered this song too I believe...

  • @MrAdamAlden Status Quo did a pretty cool cover of this, but for some reason left the key instrument out of their version, the TAMBOURINE!

  • @MattHatter Well that's a big OOPS! isn't it?

  • whats with the stuppd teady bear thing then just beat it up but it looks relly fagy childesh thing with that stuppid bear

  • Sitar! lol I love it!

  • the music remind me vaguely of go to mirror by the who

  • Gotta pay the tambourine man!

  • teddy had a rough day

  • What a great time the 1960's were! I really miss the great music that made for a common culture we all were invited to share !

  • @ThatMiserableCat lol hippie music you gotta love it sorta classic rock mixed with indie rock and a little bit of middle eastern instruments in it and 60's introduced sting orchestra interments to rock

  • @ThatMiserableCat I don't think it was just the music.

  • they really dont like that teady bear

  • thats meant to be teddy roosevelt the "man"

  • LMAO!!!!!

  • this was a great song from the late 60s' But dont remember them having another big hit after this one ..... thanx for posting ....Lyndloo..
