  • cool stuff..my analogman modded DMM should be here by monday next week..can never have to many demos of this pedal on youtube!

  • True! The DMM is king.

  • I should do a new demo of this one sometime .. properly recorded with an SM57.

  • You should check out the song Small Hours by John Martyn, the live version. This is the guy who started the whole ambient sound, or at least one of the first. Great music you make though!

  • Interesting! I can definitely hear the resemblance with the swells and the delays! Sounds nice! Great melodies!

    And thanks for the compliment!

  • Have you tried an Ibanez ad-80 ? I wonder how it would stack up against the EH.

  • No, I haven't. So I can't comment on that.

  • Are you using anything else besides the DMM?

    Reverb?

    What are your settings?

  • There might be a little spring reverb from the Twin Reverb going on, but nothing above '5'.

My settings differ on this video, as you can see. Just play around with it, it isn't hard getting a good sound out of this pedal. Just dial in a bit of vibrato or chorus to make it sound nice and play around with the time, the mix and the feedback.

  • Yeah, I own a DMM...

and right now I'm using it for longer delays though

but I really like this ambient sound you're using

I definitely want to try that.

  • Yeah, I use it for all sorts of delays, mostly the longer settings, but also some shorter ones. If you take a look at the time knob, you see those little black stripes? I never go under the middle black stripe. When I go there I tend to have this 'slapback' feeling, which I don't really liked. Oh and, I just noticed that on some parts I engaged a mxr compressor, as I hear myself saying.

  • You should check out the Malekko 919. It'll be released in the near future. More delay time, tap tempo, completely analog, modulation, a tone knob, under $300-- what more could you ask for?

  • Dude! That's interesting! I didn't know this was coming up. I would definitely try it out BUT it doesn't mean it'll sound better than a DMM. ;) We'll see.

  • Goergeous texture at 6:50.. it feels very tape delay.

Have you got you dynacord woking with the din plug?

What do you think about it now compared to the delux.

One is noisy and fragile, the other has a shorter delay, thinner sound maybe, i dont know never used a delux..

  • I sense GAS rising...

  • lol! Watch out! Don't watch my vids! You as a delay lover will suffer from a serious GAS overload. ;)

  • I love how the repeats become soupy around 6:40. Very tape echo-ish. I remember the RE-20 that kind of sound but the DMM sounds better. That's something the Timefactor can't do.

Can't afford one at the moment though. I'm supposed to receive 4 pedals I've been waiting a few months for during this month.. And I'm also getting into DIY stuff lately so getting all the basic tools is costing me a lot. And, um, I'm also (supposed to be) saving up for an amp.. Please feel my pain..

  • Yeah, that's what I love about the DMM as well. I haven't found any other delay that does that, besides my tape delay. I have the RE-20 as well but it still feels really really digital to me. The decays don't really blend at all. The only way I can really get that is to turn the treble down and turn the bass all the way up, increase the feedback and then it works pretty well. I'll demo that pedal sometime too.

And yeah, I feel your pain, mate. Finances are a bitch, really.
